About the Role
The Product Operations Lead is a critical leadership role within the Credit Cards Product team, accountable for leading the Product Operations team of four domain specialists. Reporting to the Head of Consumer Cards, this role will lead the Product Operations function to improve business resilience of the ANZ Credit Cards portfolio.
Partnering with Product Management and teams across the value chain, the role identifies and addresses root causes of customer, operational and control issues, while shaping solutions that are practical, scalable and sustainable. It also represents Credit Cards Product across change initiatives and major transformation programs, ensuring new capabilities are designed to operate effectively in a complex and highly regulated environment.
The role suits a customer-obsessed and commercially astute leader who will challenge the status quo and deliver outcomes that improve efficiency, scalability and business resilience. You will join ANZ Credit Cards at a pivotal time, with a clear mandate to build a high-performing team and drive continuous improvement in how the product business operates, supporting the growth agenda for ANZ Credit Cards and the ambitions of the ANZ 2030 strategy.

What will your day look like?
- Lead and uplift the Product Operations function, building a high-performing team, setting clear standards and accountabilities, and embedding the operating disciplines, governance frameworks and ways of working required to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across the Credit Cards portfolio.
- Support the effective operation of the Credit Cards business, overseeing complex and escalated enquiries from across the value chain, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently, root causes are identified and addressed, and product support activities deliver strong customer, risk and business outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement across Product Operations, simplifying processes, automating manual activities and optimising monitoring and exception reporting to strengthen the control environment and risk profile
- Represent Credit Cards Product across change initiatives and transformation programs, partnering across Product, Technology, Legal, Risk, Operations, Delivery and Distribution to shape business requirements, influence solution design and deliver practical, scalable and operationally sustainable outcomes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Deep Credit Cards and product operations expertise, with experience managing a large-scale product portfolio in a highly regulated environment and a strong understanding of governance, non-financial risk, controls, resilience and customer servicing.
- Proven people leadership, with the ability to build a high-performing team, develop capability, create accountability and uplift standards in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Strong operational judgement and problem-solving capability, with the ability to manage complex escalations, distinguish symptoms from root causes and make pragmatic decisions that balance customer, business, operational and risk outcomes.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of simplifying processes and challenging legacy ways of working to deliver solutions that improve outcomes for customers, bankers and business performance.
- A track record of shaping and delivering scalable solutions, influencing senior stakeholders and bringing an end-to-end perspective to business requirements, issue remediation, operating model improvements, new capabilities and transformation delivery.
