About the Role

The National Business Centre (NBC) supports a large number of bankers transitioning into new roles or building critical business banking capability.

 

As an NBC Coach, you will play a key role in developing banker capability through our structured NBC Onboarding course, targeted 1:1 coaching plans, and ongoing skill development through skill builder delivery. You will work closely with Team Leaders and Area Managers to deliver focused coaching plans utilising coaching frameworks and embed consistent, high-quality learning experiences across all stages of the banker journey.

 

Your impact will be seen in professional stronger banker performance, improved customer outcomes, and the successful transition of new-to-role bankers into confident, capable Business Banking professionals.

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours/week)

What will your day look like?

 

As an NBC Coach, you will:

 

  • Develop capability in new-to-role bankers (0–6 months), ensuring a strong foundation for success
  • Facilitate onboarding programs, delivering structured learning to new-to-role bankers to build foundational capability and confidence
  • Lead weekly skill builder sessions, reinforcing core capabilities and uplifting performance across the cohort
  • Deliver structured coaching and training across products, customer conversations, and engagement techniques
  • Coach live and recorded customer interactions, driving strong conversation quality and consistent customer experiences
  • Strengthen product and process knowledge to support quality, compliant outcomes
  • Enable effective use of key tools (e.g. CRM, CAP, Know How, Commercial Leads, WIP/Pipe management)
  • Build understanding of end-to-end processes to support successful product fulfilment
  • Embed best-practice coaching frameworks and drive consistency across the NBC
  • Prepare bankers for successful customer interactions, ensuring awareness of support resources

  • Execution mindset: Ability to support end-to-end processes and deliver consistent outcomes
  • Relationship management: Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Financial acumen: Understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, and lending principles
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to align and influence across multiple teams
  • Influencing skills: Ability to drive behavioural change and commitment
  • Systems knowledge: Experience with systems such as CRM, BBD, GoBiz, KnowHow Assist, and core Business Systems
