About the Role

As a Monitoring and Oversight Lead for ABN, you will play a pivotal role in designing, executing, and embedding governance and compliance programs that strengthen risk management and improve customer outcomes. You will oversee the ABN Well Managed control framework and other ABN-specific controls, ensuring they are effectively implemented and maintained across the network.

 

This role involves partnering with stakeholders across the value chain to drive compliance initiatives, embed controls, and support change programs. You will be instrumental in managing key risks, responding to stakeholder inquiries, and ensuring that governance standards are consistently upheld.

What will your day look like?


As a Monitoring & Oversight Lead, you will:

 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and embed ABN-specific controls and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor and assess risk and compliance performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Respond to stakeholder queries and provide guidance on compliance obligations and risk management.
  • Drive execution of business projects and initiatives focused on risk and compliance uplift.
  • Support change management activities across a large, distributed network of staff.
  • Prepare reports and insights for senior management on governance and control effectiveness.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in ABN branch processes and procedures.
  • Strong background in governance, assurance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build credibility and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and negotiate change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting data and identifying trends.
  • Experience in managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within deadlines.
