About the Role
As a Lead, Climate Reporting Policy & Governance in our team, you’ll lead and coordinate the development of Climate reporting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Australian mandatory climate reporting obligations, working in conjunction with ESG Reporting & Policy team. You will also work with Business Governance and Controls (BG&C) teams to develop a Climate Reporting Governance Program that incorporates Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Framework requirements to ensure a robust governance framework supports the Board in signing mandatory Climate Reports. You will lead adoption of I.AM Amplified with the support of BG&C teams ensuring adoption is complete prior to FY26 reporting.
Working with the Group’s Mandatory Climate Program - put in place to help us to meet ANZ’s mandatory climate disclosure obligations in Australia - this role will play a pivotal role in informing actions to be taken and in building long term climate reporting processes and capability.
This role requires an individual who understands climate and financial reporting concepts well and can effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and an individual with risk management and/or policy experience.

What will your day look like?
As a Lead, Climate Reporting Policy & Governance, you will:

Be a member of the Mandatory Climate Program Scenario Planning and Financial Impacts workstream, supporting Head of Financial Reporting, Policy & Governance and working closely with the Climate Program Initiative Lead.

A key connector between the Mandatory Climate Program workstreams, Climate Risk and Group Finance providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership in climate reporting policy and governance

Lead in conjunction with Lead Climate Reporting & Policy interpretation of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures and provide subject matter guidance to the Mandatory Climate Program workstreams

Work with, provide support and represent Disclosure & Assurance workstream on the Mandatory Climate Program workstreams for example Climate-related risk and opportunities assessment (CRROs), data and analytics, financial impacts and scenario analysis, ensuring connectivity and visibility. In particular support the business with policy guidance to meet climate disclosure requirements

Work closely with Lead, Climate Reporting and Policy in development of a comprehensive suite of Climate Reporting Policies and Procedures

Work in collaboration with BG&C teams to develop a Climate Reporting Governance Program that incorporates NFR Framework requirements

Lead adoption of I.AM Amplified with the support of BG&C teams ensuring adoption is complete prior to FY26 reporting
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Working experience of accounting and climate reporting frameworks such as TCFD, AASB and ISSB

Commercial with sound business acumen and judgement

Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way and to influence outcomes

Experience in development and interpretation of policy and/or risk management

Flexible, reflective and adaptable working style (able to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast paced and cross-functional team environments)

Demonstrated ability to identify working relationships within and across teams, and promote the effective development of these relationships

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and work across workstreams in an integrated way aligning on goals
