About the Role

As a Lead, Climate Reporting Financial Impacts in our team, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the assessment and production of actual and potential financial impacts of climate risk (being the economic impacts of transition and physical risks) to satisfy mandatory climate disclosures including credit risk provisioning. You will be working with the Group’s Mandatory Climate Program - put in place to help us meet ANZ’s mandatory climate disclosure obligations in Australia - your role will play a pivotal role in informing actions to be taken in building long term climate reporting processes and capability. Your role requires an individual with strong business partnering capability to engage across the business in coordination the production of financial impacts of climate risk.

 

This role requires an individual who understands climate reporting and financial reporting concepts well and can effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

What will your day look like?

As a Lead, Climate Reporting Financial Impacts, you will be:

  • A member of the Mandatory Climate Program Scenario Planning and Financial Impacts workstream, supporting Head of Financial Reporting, Policy & Governance and working closely with the Climate Program Initiative Lead.  

  • A key connector between the Mandatory Climate Program workstreams, Climate Risk and Group Finance providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership in the financial impacts of climate risk.

  • Lead the establishment of climate risk financial impacts methodology

  • Work with, provide support and represent Financial Impacts workstream on the Mandatory Climate Program workstreams to ensure that financial impacts are considered and planned for, for example Climate-related risk and opportunities assessment (CRROs), data and analytics, and scenario analysis, ensuring connectivity and visibility. 

  • Work closely with the Credit Risk team to ensure that credit risk impacts are considered as part of the consideration of economic or financial impacts.

  • Work closely with Finance Business Partners and Group Financial Planning to educate on climate risks impacts and develop value add and sustainable solutions supporting long term financial management of climate risk.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Working experience of accounting and climate reporting frameworks such as TCFD, AASB and ISSB

  • Commercial with sound business acumen and judgement

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way and to influence outcomes

  • Flexible, reflective and adaptable working style (able to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast paced and cross-functional team environments)

  • Demonstrated ability to identify working relationships within and across teams, and promote the effective development of these relationships

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and work across workstreams in an integrated way aligning on goals
