About the Role
As the leader of the Financial and Capital Modelling team, you will be a key part of small dynamic team, operating a range of capital and financial models and providing insightful analytics to understand and solve complex data problems. ANZLMI provides Lenders Mortgage Insurance to ANZ, protecting the bank against shortfall loss from high LVR loans. As a separate legal entity, ANZLMI has its own board of directors, and is separately regulated by APRA and ASIC.

Role Location: Melbourne or Sydney (open to other Australian City Locations)
Work Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
What will your day look like?
As the Financial & Capital Modelling Lead, you are accountable for:
- All elements of business intelligence and management reporting for ANZLMI business.
- Insurance Risk capital calculations for ANZLMI business in line with APRA Prudential Requirements.
- Completion of stress testing and related modelling, including preparation of annual ANZLMI ICAAP report and oversight of ANZLMI’s participation in the ANZ Group ICAAP exercise.
- Work with the broader ANZLMI management team including:
i. Operations team to build a robust approach to forecasting and monitoring the arrears & claim levels;
ii. External policy registry system provider to build and maintain business critical reports and complex calculators within a dedicated reporting and analytics platform
iii. Quality Assurance and 2nd Line Risk and Compliance teams, to measure and report the risk metrics in ANZLMI’s Risk Appetite Statement
iv Finance team to prepare ongoing management and regulatory reporting
- Leverage data analytics to generate actionable insights for decision making.
- Oversight ANZLMI model management & governance to maintain robust control environment for ANZLMI material models
- Engage with internal and external experts to ensure ANZLMI’s financial models remain ‘fit for purpose’ and are compliant with the ANZ Model Risk Framework. This includes oversight of the ANZLMI Material Model Management Framework, preparation of model documentation and review of model validation reports.
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role you will bring professional actuarial qualifications or a tertiary degree with a major in actuarial studies, along with the following -
- Demonstrated experience in actuarial, financial & accounting analytics and ability to distil information for senior audiences, in particular prior experience in preparation of Board and/or executive Committee papers will be highly regarded.
- Educational background in actuarial studies and finance is required for this role.
- Prior experience in insurance product development and pricing will be highly regarded, along with managing calculation and reporting processes in a business context.
- Strong attention to detail and a delivery mindset.
- Strong people and stakeholder management capability, including managing relationships across three lines of defence.
