About the Role
The Chapter Lead – Experimentation is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of highly skilled individuals who drive innovation through structured experimentation (including optimisation of the on-site personalisation program) and data analysis. This role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and personalisation across digital channels. Along with Product Owners and coaches, Chapter Leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy in experimental design and execution. They provide the evidence base for our Channel Experience capability area to build out best practice customer experiences.

What will your day look like?
As a Chapter Lead - Experimentation, your key priorities and accountabilities include:

Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to chapter members, ensuring they have the skills and support needed to excel within their squads.

Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate a clear vision and strategic direction for the chapter, monitoring and driving capability development towards this vision.

Squad Integration: Ensure chapter members effectively contribute to their respective squads, providing expertise and support for experimentation and personalisation initiatives including onsite personalisation.

Experimentation Framework: Oversee the development and execution of A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other experimental techniques to optimise digital experiences, and management of the on site personalisation program.

Data-Driven Insights: Analyse test results to generate insights and actionable recommendations, driving data-driven decision making within the team and across squads.

Innovation Culture: Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, encouraging innovative thinking and data-driven practices within squads.

Experimentation Best Practices: Establish and maintain best practices for experimentation and on-site personalisation ensuring adherence to data integrity and accuracy standards.

Evidence Based Learnings: Build out an evidence base to inform best practice digital experiences as designed by our Channel Experiences team, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust data and analysis.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Deep experience in personalisation or digital marketing with a strong track record building test and learns

Experience leading teams within a large organisation and ideally experience setting up a new team

Proven track record applying measurement techniques to marketing activity helping the teams improve their discipline

Able to keep track of personalisation activity across our area and ensure we’re continually building our knowledge of best practice and bringing this to bear on the activity you work on

Immersed in the industry and able to identify best practice outside of ANZ and can figure out how to bring this to life within our own area.

A strongly commercial background, able to clearly articulate how your work impacts outcomes that matter to your area, your stakeholders and the bank as a whole.

A leader who can guide the team through ambiguity, support their efforts to deliver key outcomes and ensure they are recognised across the business for the results they drive.

You will be a key voice in the development of a future campaign and customer contact capabilities.

Demonstrating a systems engineering mindset, you’ll be keenly focused on connecting all of the components to deliver value, and find connections between different programs. You’ll be comfortable working with a range of diverse and demanding stakeholders as well as independently to apply new techniques and technologies to deliver lasting business impact.
