Change & Implementation Manager, Docklands VIC

Req ID:  108855
Department:  AR Deposits & Payments Product Management
Division:  Australia Retail
Location:  Docklands

About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.

About the Role

As a Change & Implementation Manager in Deposits & Payments, you will be instrumental in strengthening ANZ’s enterprise document management strategy - uplifting capability, improving future‑state processes, and enhancing how the bank manages and surfaces critical documents. As part of this broader objective, you will also play a critical role in the Suncorp Migration program by driving end‑to‑end delivery, shaping the implementation approach, preparing impacted teams, and ensuring migrated Suncorp documents are seamlessly accessible for customers and staff from Day 1.

You will lead and execute hands‑on change, both business and technology, communications, training, and implementation activities, coordinate release readiness across all stakeholder groups, and provide strong PMO support across planning, delivery, coordination, and reporting to the program’s Change pillar.

Role Location: L5A/833 Collins Street, Docklands

Role Type: 12- Month Fix Term

What will your day look like?

As a Change & Implementation Manager, you are accountable for:

  • Leading and delivering the Change Management and Implementation pillars end‑to‑end - setting direction, defining priorities, shaping deliverables, and ensuring all change outcomes for the initiative are successfully landed and sustained.
  • Owning the full change lifecycle, applying structured change techniques to assess impacts, identify risks and readiness gaps, define mitigation actions, and ensure all business, operational, and customer considerations are incorporated into delivery planning.
  • Working hands‑on within the team and partnering with ANZ business units, technology teams, and vendors to understand solution impacts, prepare affected groups, and plan and execute all change and implementation readiness activities, while also flexing into other workstreams as needed for support (e.g. Testing, Business Analysis).
  • Raising, managing, and coordinating technology Change Requests (CRs) - ensuring accuracy, driving approvals, managing scheduling, and working closely with impacted businesses and technology to ensure safe and controlled implementation.
  • Leading the initiative’s change, risk and governance requirements - developing high‑quality business readiness artefacts (e.g. readiness and transition plans, implementation guides), maintaining audit‑ready documentation, completing governance processes and approvals, and ensuring implementation activities meet ANZ standards, while coordinating with the Change pillar, other initiatives and impacted stakeholders across change, communications, training and release.
  • Working closely with technology and program delivery teams to plan, coordinate, and track release activities - ensuring dependencies, sequencing, cutover steps, and implementation timings are fully understood and managed.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A can-do attitude and willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’ with the team to get delivery across the line in a fast-paced VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) project environment, flexing consistently between your SME capabilities and team priorities that require swarming.
  • Demonstrated capability in end‑to‑end change impact assessment, analysing current vs. future state processes, identifying readiness gaps, and shaping targeted transition activities using proven change management frameworks and tools.
  • Experienced in operational and technical impact analysis, preparing implementation and cutover plans, coordinating deployment activities, and managing readiness and risks through structured release management practices.
  • Strong functional experience or expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Change Management, Release Management, Business/Technical Analysis, Risk Management, and/or Project Management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder‑management skills and an adaptable working style are must‑haves, as the role requires engaging effectively with Business Owners across multiple Business Units, Leadership Teams, other initiatives, technology teams, and vendors.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale technology migration programs, with a solid understanding of technology delivery, solution architecture, and technical requirements documentation.
  • SME-level knowledge of document management services and their related technology stacks is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time with different project delivery methodologies (Agile and Waterfall), supported by advanced documentation, facilitation and governance skills that ensure strong initiative hygiene and change delivery integrity (e.g. detailed change plans, release artefacts).
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and complex problem‑solving, able to navigate challenging stakeholder dynamics and respond effectively to unexpected issues.
