About the Role
The Capability Consultant will partner across the enterprise to assess, design, and implement strategies that build workforce strategic skills, drive learning culture, and align capability development with business objectives. By engaging a wide range of stakeholders, this role will identify learning needs and deliver solutions that measurably strengthen ANZ’s capability. You will work collaboratively in a flexible, supportive team to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
What will your day look like?
As the Capability Consultant, you will be accountable for:
- Building strong relationships: Solid consulting skills that enable you to manage relationships effectively, capture requirements into actionable and ordered commercial designs and influence outcomes.
- Design and adoption: Ability to design and build learning solutions across a blend of modalities, supporting their successful test, refinement and delivery, including working with vendors and divisional delivery teams to deliver on key capability initiatives as well as governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Quality and systems: Delivering high‑quality learning using ANZ‑approved systems and processes. Ensuring all work meets ANZ’s standards, adheres to security and compliance requirements, and integrates seamlessly into approved platforms.
What will you bring?
‘Must have’ knowledge, skills and experience
- Demonstrated consulting and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling effective influence and collaboration across diverse groups.
- Ability to design and build learning solutions across a blend of modalities, applying the ADDIE learning model and familiarity with digital learning tools, platforms, and content development software.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in fast‑paced environments, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a supportive team and work confidently through ambiguity to solve complex problems.
- Strong analytical capability to assess learning outcomes, identify the key skills that address performance gaps, and translate insights into focused, practical solutions that drive meaningful behaviour change and improved results.
Desirable, but not mandatory knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience in capability initiatives across large, complex organisations.
- Understanding of vendor management and partnerships to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, interdependencies, and deliverables to ensure successful timely implementation
