About The Role

As a Business Analyst in Group Risk, you will support critical Operational Risk and Compliance initiatives with a focus on enhancing Non-Financial Risk (NFR) capabilities

This role requires deep expertise in operational risk and risk management. Experience working on Enforceable Undertakings (EU) is highly desirable.

What will your day look like?


As a Business Analyst, you are accountable for:

  • Supporting the delivery of Non-Financial Risk initiatives under the APRA Enforceable Undertaking program by translating regulatory requirements into actionable business analysis.
  • Breaking down complex regulatory obligations into clear workstreams and requirements that enable sustainable risk capability uplift.
  • Ensuring business analysis outputs align with the bank’s Risk Management Framework and meet regulatory expectations.
  • Contributing to effective project governance through detailed documentation, risk tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, and business units to ensure alignment on requirements and milestones.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, analysis summaries, and updates for executives, governance forums, and APRA.
  • Coordinating validation activities and sustainability assessments for risk remediation initiatives.
  • Acting as a subject matter contributor on operational and compliance risk, helping improve the organisation’s risk delivery approach.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Relevant Years’ experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, ideally in Risk or Compliance.
  • Experience with APRA Enforceable Undertaking programs or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Non-Financial Risk and Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Skilled in gathering business requirements, process mapping (e.g. BPMN), and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work strategically and at a detailed level to deliver practical solutions.
  • Experience working with both 1st and 2nd line of defence teams.
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex issues clearly.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Business Analysis certifications.
