About the Role
As a Business Analyst in the Commercial Lending Transformation team, you’ll play a key role in helping to support and deliver a best-in-class, enterprise-wide 'product as a service’ that: streamlines wholesale lending origination across Australia and New Zealand and works towards an enterprise solution that delivers a simpler, more consistent experience for customers and less complexity for bankers. The role is accountable for supporting the Senior Business Analyst, Subject Matter Experts and other Delivery Professionals within the Program.
The Business Analyst works with key project stakeholders to analyse and synthesise information, understand the organisational context and eliciting, documenting, managing and tracing the requirements throughout the project or program end to end. Directed by the Senior Business Analyst, they undertake analysis activities to support the achievement of project or business outcomes such as testing, process mapping and change transition.
Working alongside Teams in Business Services, New Zealand Business and Agribusiness, Commercial Australia, as well as key support partners in Risk, Technology and Operations, the Business Analyst plays an integral role in ensuring Project success. A valued member of the Lending Transformation Team, the Business Analyst will cultivate strong relationships with others in Lend and Grow Product, as well as our stakeholders in front line Lending Distribution and Sales roles.

What will your day look like?
As a Business Analyst, you will:

Identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the organization's operations. Engages with stakeholders to gather detailed insights.

Consider different ways to deliver the analysis, using a project delivery and a commercial lens.

Evaluate business needs, thus contributing to strategic planning of information systems and technology directions
-
Document the complex areas of scope, objectives, added value or benefit expectations, using an integrated set of analysis and modelling techniques.

Lead or provide input to the requirements monitoring and management (traceability)
-
Translate business objectives into requirements using the appropriate tools and methodology.

Explore implications of design decisions and recommend improvements.

Undertake qualitative, quantitative and desktop research to uncover actionable insights that can improve solutions and identify new opportunities

Identify and escalate key project risks and issues
-
Report on analysis program (status reporting and communications)

Robust stakeholder engagement and management plans in place including project/programme communications and reporting

Liaise with external stakeholders., legal, audit, vendors during key phases of the project Test Management

Support development of test plans and user acceptance testing
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Engineer or related field.

Demonstrable knowledge of financial services compliance and regulatory obligations.

Deep knowledge and expertise in delivery tooling such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Signavio and the MS Office suite.

Experience in articulating complex ideas clearly and concisely, ensuring all stakeholders understand
-
Demonstrable ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to a variety of stakeholders
-
Utilises a variety of facilitation techniques to guide discussions, foster collaboration and ensure all voices are heard.

Ability to drive consensus, resolve conflicts and achieve desired outcomes efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and successful project implementation

Experience in managing relationships with program leaders and senior stakeholders, providing input into program decisions and influencing using data and reports
-
Fosters a culture of collaboration and rapport by presenting compelling arguments and using effective negotiation skills to align interests.

Capability to synthesise extensive information into concise, actionable recommendations.
-
Ability to understand interdependencies and linkages of the program/initiative with the broader business division/area objectives.

Experience successfully supporting complex projects within Financial Services.
