About Us

ANZ’s 2030 strategy is transforming our bank to win the preference of customers, shareholders and the community.  ANZ will achieve this by focusing on four strategic pillars – customer first, simplicity, resilience and delivering value.

About the Role

Role type:                          Full time, permanent - multiple roles*

Role location:                    833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

We will be reviewing applications regularly and recommend applying sooner than later.

ANZ is at the beginning of a multi-year transformation program to deliver better customer, risk and business outcomes through sustainable improvements to the way ANZ’s does business. It is a whole-of-bank program overseen by the Board and the Executive Committee with funding and resource to enable delivery. It’s an exciting time to join.

As part of the transformation, Talent & Culture (HR) has multiple deliverables involving organisational design, culture, capability, performance and remuneration. These are the critical levers for shifting and strengthening an organisation.

As a Business Analyst with us, you’ll turn people strategy into real, measurable change; shaping how we design our organisation, build culture, grow capability, lift performance and evolve remuneration. You’ll lead (or contribute to) discovery, process mapping and requirements, translate insight from data and stakeholders into clear recommendations, and partner closely with Talent & Culture, Finance and/or Tech to deliver outcomes that improve employee experience and business performance.

We’re hiring across levels and profiles: technical BAs who love data, business requirements, risk remediation, and process mapping; and generalists who excel at problem framing, workshops, use cases, artefacts, and template design. Most roles will align to a specific people workstream for end-to-end ownership, with some positions rotating across priorities to meet demand—so you can see impact, grow fast and do your best work.

What will your day look like?

We are looking for a diverse team of Business Analysts to support the people workstreams, meaning no day or role will be the same. We don’t want to waste your time, so please be advised the work is better suited to people with business BA experience more than technology.

A sample of work would include:

•    Partner with the Workstream Leads and Project Managers to plan workstream deliverables and turn fuzzy problems into clear, testable requirements.

•    Create and maintain core BA artefacts including process maps, business requirements, user stories/specs, decision and assumption logs.

•    Build and iterate reporting and dashboards to track progress, outcomes and benefits against target state.

•    Combine qualitative insights and quantitative data to surface patterns, opportunities and gaps; translate findings into options and recommendations.

•    Design delivery plans, conduct discovery and facilitation workshops, and keep momentum through tight cadence and visual management.

•    Improve processes end-to-end: streamline handoffs, clarify roles (RAPID), set controls, and document the future state.

•    Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies; escalate with succinct analysis and actions.

•    Support governance and operating rhythms—status, stage gates, prioritisation—and ensure decisions are auditable.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Demonstrated experience using a range of project management techniques (e.g. RAID, Agile) in cross-functional programs

  • Proven track record in applying enterprise delivery standards and producing high-quality artefacts across project lifecycles

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly convey information through oral, written, and visual methods, including active listening and presentation skills

  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence areas across a range of stakeholder groups

  • Analytical problem solving and critical thinking to understand problems and root causes and inform solutions which balance value, risk, cost and feasibility

  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure high levels of accuracy in work outputs, including report writing and the creation of detailed documents.

  • Ability to appreciate difficult problems and work autonomously on tasks with high complexity and clearly represent findings.

  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and documentation standards, using a range of tools (e.g. MS Project, MS Excel, Tableau)

  • Domain knowledge of Talent & Culture programs and Risk Management frameworks (desirable)

  • Experience on enterprise culture and/or organizational transformation programs (desirable)

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Business Analysis certifications
