About the Role
As an Assurance Manager (Line 1 Risk) in our Group Technology Assurance & Controls team, you will drive technology operational risk excellence using the ANZ Risk Management Framework. You will be supporting Group Technology domains and their teams to ensure their key risks are understood and well managed.
The management of Technology Assurance services in Group Technology has been centralised, to drive efficiencies and to uplift delivery and assurance.

What will your day look like?
As an Assurance Manager, you will:
• Lead a team of Technology assurance professionals providing 1st Line technology assurance services to Group Technology Domains and divisional CIOs.
• Manage capacity and relative priorities, ensuring that work is prioritised, backlogged, and addressed in line to demand.
• Track team performance and drive the operating rhythm.
• Providing assurance of quality and adequacy of risks, key controls, treatments, events, audit items, NFRAs etc.
• Produce risk reporting for committees/forums.
• Manage divisional compliance requirements such as annual attestations and risk profile refresh work.
• Take on risk / compliance related initiatives and drive them to completion.
• Use your strong communication and presentation skills to connect with senior leaders in Risk and Technology Domains
• Enjoy providing guidance and on the job training to junior team members.
• Support the Technology domains in the continuous improvement of their risk management in line with I.AM, our Risk Management Framework
• Ensure the team is providing accurate insights, identifying trends and making recommendations in relation to how non-financial risks are being identified, assessed and treated.
• Partnering with stakeholders to support them in delivering other non-financial risk management accountabilities (e.g. events analytics, supporting delivery of treatments, assisting with audits, input into risk forum packs) using expertise, coaching and guidance
• Supporting the improvement in risk capability/culture/awareness
• Monitoring the effective adoption of, and continuous improvements in risk management methodology and application of tools, providing an accurate and actionable view of technology risk.
• Acting as a primary contact for stakeholders seeking support from first line assurance.
• Attending and participating in, and assisting in the production of reporting for, risk committees and other Non-Financial Risk Forums as required
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Solid experience working in an assurance, audit, risk management or compliance-based role.
• Proven experience providing risk and assurance expertise, ideally to Technology based business units.
• Ability to tailor your communication to your audience, and in a simple manner which is easily understood by non-risk practitioners.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications relating to Information Technology
• Good stakeholder management stills, with an ability to build relationships and influence at executive level across Group Technology.
• Experience in understanding demand and priorities, leveraging skills and resources as appropriate.
• Ability to support the execution of a roadmap for the near and longer term.
• Experience in working with diverse teams across different locations.
• Knowledge and experience of key business processes and services (either from Technology or Business)
• Knowledge and experience of regulatory and compliance requirements
• Growth mindset, ready to engage and influence stakeholders and team members.
• Thorough understanding of operational risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, delivery standards and control frameworks (CObIT, NIST, SANS, ISO27K, etc.)
• Experience in working with diverse teams across different locations.
• A pragmatic and balanced approach to upholding fundamental risk principals and requirements of risk management frameworks.
