About the Role

Research & Analysis (R&A) is a customer facing function that provides high quality, and time sensitive credit analysis and maintains well managed framework.

As an Analyst, (R&A), you will be part of the market-leading Property and Health team within Institutional Banking. This high-performing, collaborative team proactively manages real estate investment portfolios and development projects for a diverse client base. The IPG portfolio includes publicly listed, wholesale, private, and offshore-owned property groups, encompassing developers and investors across residential, office, retail, industrial, and hotel asset classes.

 

In this role, you will work closely with Relationship Managers in managing a portfolio of clients across the Property sectors as well as assisting with the establishment of facility arrangements for new bank opportunities. The role will be responsible for maintaining sound risk management and implementing strategic goals to ensure that an optimal ‘well managed’ portfolio is maintained. The role will develop a close working relationship with other key areas of the Group such as Product Partners, Risk and others to promote deeper client insight.

What will your day look like?


As an Institutional Research & Analysis Analyst, your accountabilities include:

 

  • Preparation of high-quality credit papers, which includes conducting detailed financial analysis, researching industry trends, and periodic reviews.
  • Undertaking ongoing credit monitoring, including financial and project feasibility analysis, risk grade event management and quality assurance processes to ensure a well-managed portfolio is maintained;
  • Liaising with clients and credit risk executives on transaction structuring and ongoing credit reviews;
  • Execute transactions and portfolio management in conformity with Business Writing Strategies/Risk Appetite Statements and Policy.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A strong interest to further develop credit and transaction structuring, ideally backed by prior experience, and to apply this skill set to the property specialist segment.
  • Ability to work responsibly and collaboratively in a team and able to manage multiple clients engagements simultaneously with strong customer focus.
  • A proactive mindset toward building both internal and external networks to provide industry insights and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • The ability to understand and negotiate complex financial structures and alternatives.
  • While prior knowledge of property sub-sectors isn’t essential, you’ll bring a genuine curiosity and drive to build a deep understanding of these high growth markets.
