About the Role

 

As the Customer Due Diligence / Onboarding Strategy Lead, in our Business & Private Bank division, you will lead the Customer Due Diligence/Onboarding Strategy team by managing the end-to-end KYC / onboarding requirements for a seamless banker and customer journey. 

 

You and the team will execute on the Customer Due Diligence agenda for the customer & banker journey to define and implement optimal processes for financial crime and onboarding, linking KYC, channels, account set up including downstream impacts to digital access settings, etc. You will work with various enterprise programs, Divisions, Business Units and Operations in bringing together a seamless view of current state to define, build and deliver on strategic state and ongoing developments and maintenance. 


Your role requires understanding of AML/CTF legislative and regulatory environment, ANZ systems, processes and customer servicing.

What will your day look like?

 

As the Customer Due Diligence / Onboarding Strategy Lead, you will be accountable for:

  • Executing on the Customer Due Diligence/KYC/onboarding agenda accelerating the transition to the future state KYC lifecycle ensuring process integrity and alignment with Business needs
  • Based on the strategic goals, defining the end-to-end Financial Crime/KYC/Onboarding priorities in collaboration with cross-functional leaders (e.g. Operations, Technology, Retail, Institutional, etc.)
  • Creating an optimal KYC value proposition by developing a new level of strategic thinking and planning across Business & Private Bank
  • Playing an active role in articulating the needs of Business & Private Bank customers in enterprise or Divisional programs, then oversee, coordinate and execute on all co-existence work 
  • Working with Technology, Commercial Digital & Customer Experience team and other delivery partners to ensure the KYC/Onboarding approach and delivery receives appropriate priority to deliver the agenda
  • Building the capability and capacity in your team to ensure they are engaged and able to deliver

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Financial Crime and KYC regulatory landscape (AML, CTF, etc.) with a view of how that integrates within Banking systems
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus, consistently championing for better outcomes for customers through proactive risk management, service excellence, and ethical decision-making
  • A forward-thinker who envisions the broader landscape when dealing with the current landscape and/or limitations
  • Strong ability to drive practical application of financial crime policies and procedures with the banker and customer focus
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Extensive experience in risk, financial crime, fraud or remediation roles
