As a Relationship Manager, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and growing a customer portfolio with sustainable long-term client relationships by providing customer solutions and proactive insights. The role will operate within a defined area and is responsible for making banking easier for customers by understanding them and their business and developing insightful solutions.

As a Relationship Manager, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Build sustainable long-term client relationships and growing critical customer portfolios
  • Provide customers with effective, value-added solutions whilst managing potential risks and applying financial analysis to identify key insights
  • Maintain an in depth knowledge of all core products and new offerings and recognise when to introduce specialist knowledge and expertise to customers from within and outside Business Sector
  • Ensure reports to support lending decisions and recommendations are consistent with mandated credit standards.
  • Collaborate with various teams with the Business Unit and across the wider bank to support your customers’ growth and ongoing success
  • Provide ongoing leadership, support, and development for Relationship Associates and other staff as appropriate.
  • Develop a network of contacts and assist in achieving overall business strategies of sourcing new business, maximizing existing business, and increasing effectiveness.
  • Undertake robust analysis and interpretation of customer information before submitting a deal to ensure accurate credit decisions are made at all times.
  • Ensure the bank's standards of compliance and operational excellence are maintained.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proven experience in relationship management, business development, portfolio and/or account management
  • Previous experience in analysing financial accounts, budget and cash-flow requirements and can translate this into effective customer solutions is essential but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team with proven analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Established networking capabilities to build and strengthen customer relationships while maximizing and growing portfolios
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders effectively
