We're looking for a people-focused leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. As an Assistant Branch Manager in our Personal Banking Branch Network, you’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and setting the tone for outstanding customer experiences.
You’ll coach and guide a team of bankers, build capability, and step up to lead the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment and are passionate about helping others grow, this could be your next opportunity.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing customer service team
- Coach others to deliver meaningful customer conversations and outcomes
- Be a key contact for compliance, process, and risk within the branch
- Help shape a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for staff and customers
- Contribute to the success of ANZ by living our values and supporting continuous improvement
Role Location: Central Otago - You will be based accross multiple branches including Queenstown, Wanaka, Cromwell and Alexandra. Travel between these branches will be required.

You’ll work alongside the Branch Manager to drive results, lead a strong team, and ensure customers walk away with great experiences every time. From mentoring new talent to refining service delivery, no two days will feel the same – and that’s the exciting part.
- Support the running of daily branch operations and customer service delivery
- Coach and develop staff to meet customer needs with care and confidence
- Monitor branch performance and look for ways to improve customer and employee outcomes
- Ensure policy and risk procedures are followed across the board
- Step into leadership when the Branch Manager is away, with full responsibility
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
- Experience leading or coaching a team, ideally in a customer service or retail banking setting
- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships
- An understanding of compliance and operational procedures
- A commitment to doing what’s right for customers, every time
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and help others do the same
