About the Role
As a Release/Environment/ Manager in our technology team, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the activities of release and deploy of major and minor releases to impacted infrastructure, applications, and interfaces.
You will work across releases, deployments and change management. Build strong working relationships internally across program, project managers, governance team and externally with our strategic vendors

What will your day look like?
You are accountable to:
- Coordinate the Major and Minor Releases within the Test, Pre-Production Environment (PPE) and Production environments
- Prepare and obtain approval for the Release & Deployment Plan for each release
- Maintain the Change Record, and Change Record approval discussions for production deployment in line with agreed Change lead times, ensuring evidence of functional requirements, testing and business acceptance of the change.
- Facilitate the Release and Deployment and Change Advisory Board to provide governance over the portfolio of services.
- Partner with Technology architects and subject matter experts to understand the technologies and the benefits that the new technologies will bring to Suncorp.
- Liaises with business and IT partners on release scheduling and communication of progress. Ensures release processes and procedures are applied.
- Develops implementation plans for complex requests for change. Evaluates risks to the integrity of service environment inherent in proposed implementations (including availability, performance, security, and compliance of the business services impacted). Seeks authority for those activities, reviews the effectiveness of change implementation, suggests improvement to organisational procedures governing change management.
- Work closely with the Change and Communications area to ensure that business users are engaged to perform the PVT.
- Develop and maintain release and deployment - related documentation sufficient to audit requirements.
- Create high quality deployment artefacts that meet compliance expectations
- Lead the continuous improvement of release and deployment document outputs
- Support team in identifying the scope of the PVT required to meet business requirements
- Support the culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Participate in Retrospectives, Post implementation or incident reviews
- Drive positive risk culture within team
- Perform release and deployment activities aligned to approved windows that may be after-hours
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience in Agile ways of working is required
- Many years of release Management experience in a complex, integrated environment
- API’s (desirable)
- Skills and experience with cloud concepts (preferably AWS)
- Expert level Jira Tool
- Basic level Zephyr Test Management Tool
- Demonstrated PVT management experience
- Negotiation skills
- Time management
- Risk Management
- DevOps experience (highly desirable)
- Banking / Financial organisation experience (highly desirable)
