About the Role
As a Process Governance Advisor, you’ll play a key role in helping to provide guidance and insight into process excellence to support effective governance and maturity for the Bank. You will also be responsible for the identification and documentation of critical operations and important business operations using analytics to identify and highlight key gaps to understand resilience risks and design actionable remediation plans for critical operation uplift.
You will support Suncorp Bank and cross function working groups to ensure effective consultation regarding the design and delivery of solutions for Suncorp Bank’s CPS 230 Operational Resilience obligations.
Role Type: 12-month Fixed Term contract

What will your day look like?
As a Process Governance Advisor, you will:
- Be responsible for identifying and maintaining, on behalf of Critical Operations Owners and Important Business Operation Owners, process artefacts for Critical Operations and Important Business Operations, including (but not limited to) comprehensive process and resource dependency mappings (outlining process, people, technology, premises, service providers, data etc.)
- Liaise with stakeholders and leverage data to understand the end-to-end processes through current state assessments and process mapping
- Review key resources (people, technology, premises and service providers) and processes supporting Critical Operations and Important Business Operations to identify and assess resilience, control and efficiency gaps.
- Support the identification and prioritisation of potential solutions to address gaps identified, in collaboration with key stakeholders and relevant owners.
- Support Critical Operations Owners and Important Business Operation Owners in assessing potential impacts on their respective Critical Operations and/or Important Business Operations as a result of process or system changes
- Be involved in scenario-based testing to test operational performance against risk and impact tolerance levels.
- Maintain process governance artefacts including process taxonomy and critical operations as identified under CPS 230 obligations
- Develop sound governance processes to ensure appropriate risk assurance exists across the Bank’s Process Design framework.
- Ensure deliverables align with and support the governance of Suncorp Bank’s risk management policies, frameworks, and standards, whilst ensuring solutions support the Suncorp Bank’s compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk culture and awareness within Suncorp Bank
- Complete ad-hoc work as required to support the delivery of the Bank strategic objectives.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven track record in process, risk, governance, or strategy related roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the business
- Proficient technical skills in Microsoft suite, SharePoint and Process Mapping tools such as ARIS
- Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible results in compressed timeframes across several sectors and operational environments
- Excellent stakeholder management with proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders applying fit for purpose engagement models
- High attention to detail and organisational planning skills with focus on quality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong problem-solving skills - ability to quickly identify strengths and weaknesses of a problem & quickly process large amounts of spreadsheet data and turn it into meaningful insights for the business
- Ability to execute improvements, navigating execution through the organisation and overcoming roadblocks
- Experience in leading a team or large stakeholder groups through complex change initiatives, ensuring alignment, engagement, and successful adoption of new processes or strategies
- Understanding of the banking and financial services industry, with expertise in the regulatory landscape, key industry bodies, and stakeholder dynamics
- Black belt or Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification would be highly regarded
