About the Role
The purpose of the Private Wealth Adviser role is to support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser managing the financial advice relationships with high net worth ANZ Private clients. The role will deliver or support the delivery of compliant financial advice based on a thorough understanding of clients’ values and goals. The role will deliver retail financial advice in its own right and support the delivery of wholesale financial advice. The role will also support the execution of investment transactions for self-directed clients. The role may hold the primary relationship with some retail clients. The role will support and undertake momentum activity.

What will your day look like?
As a Private Wealth Advisor, you will:
Client
-
Support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser successfully manage client relationships
-
When required, act as the primary adviser for clients who only have retail advice needs
-
Provide high quality retail financial advice to clients that is in line with clients’ values, goals and financial position.

Support the delivery of wholesale investment and/or strategic advice to clients
-
Support the delivery of high-quality investment execution services for self-directed clients

Process
-
Adhere to Private Bank policy and process in regard to advice delivery and investment execution

Oversee and approve the implementation of client advice and instructions, ensuring implementation is accurate, timely and completed in line with process and policy.

People

Provide regular guidance and coaching to private assistants and paraplanners

Provide regular guidance and coaching for private bankers
-
Work effectively as part of an advice team including senior private wealth advisers, advice assistant and paraplanners.

Engage regularly with referral partners, including private bankers and business bankers.

Risk/compliance/behaviours

Comply with ANZ requirements, policies and processes.

Adhere to ANZ’s values and expected behaviours

Adhere to Corporations Act, ASIC regulatory requirements, Adviser Code of Ethics and all other legal and regulatory requirements.

Momentum
-
Support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser with the retention of existing clients and new client growth
-
Support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser in developing an annual business plan that will be approved by the advice director
-
Support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser deliver activity in-line with the annual business plan

Contribute to momentum success of the advice team within the state and nationally

Support the Senior Private Wealth Adviser in undertaking momentum activity with internal referral partners across Private Bank and the broader ANZ Group

Support lead generation campaigns, client and prospect events, and other marketing activity.

Support business partners across Private Bank, Commercial and Retail with their momentum, including with client referrals who have banking needs.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Financial advice qualifications that meet legal and regulatory requirements to provide financial advice in Australia
- Registration on the ASIC Financial Advisers’ Register.
- Completion of the financial adviser professional exam
- Completion of the professional year (if required to provide retail financial advice)
- Previous experience in the provision of retail financial advice to high net worth clients with complex needs
- Excellent understanding of financial services products, including investments, superannuation, SMSF, and insurance.
- Excellent understanding of advice process, legal and regulatory requirements
