About the Role
As a Finance Analyst in Suncorp Bank, you will contribute to the success of the Bank's operational performance by identifying new opportunities to improve or reduce costs, assessing financial outcomes and benchmarking internal bank performance.
The role of the Finance Analyst – BAU will be to contribute to the team via key accountabilities with a predominate focus on Suncorp Bank BAU divisions.
Role Type: Permanent role
Role Location: Heritage Lanes, 80 Ann Street, Brisbane QLD 4000
Work Hours: Full time role (37.5 hours/week)
What will your day look like?
As a Finance Analyst – BAU, you will:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand, challenge and influence financial performance and provide a forward-looking view of financial performance
- Leverage our knowledge of current/future financial performance to provide actionable insights to identify risks/opportunities and support decision making
- Own the messages around the Bank’s financial performance; providing insightful commentary on financial performance/management reporting across a range of stakeholders across the Bank, Group and shareholders
- Provide financial and management accounting services to Suncorp Bank stakeholders, including reporting and analysis, and expense forecasting, with a focus on being the difference that leads to enhanced decision-making capability
- Champion continuous improvement within the Bank Performance Management team through constantly challenging the status quo whilst working in a fast paced, agile work environment
- Support the team's Finance Business Partners by providing timely reporting and data to help drive meaningful insights to internal team members and key senior stakeholders
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Bachelor of Business / Commerce / Accounting / Finance or Post Graduate qualification in Accounting such as CPA, ICAA are highly desirable
- Strong professional experience, preferably in a financial institution or bank
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to engage confidently with all levels within the Bank and Group
- Ability to build strong relationships, strong influencing skills and experience in providing and responding to challenge and feedback
- Experienced in explaining and communicating financial performance drivers
- Strong analytical capability (including data analysis) with background in business analysis, management reporting and / or decision support
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Strong verbal and business writing skills with experience in reporting to senior leadership / external audience
- Proven track record of delivering to tight timeframes, while being able to multi-task and contribute to several key initiatives at the same time
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts and proficiency in applying concepts to working examples
- Strong understanding of management accounting fundamentals
