Associate Director, Payments and Cash Management
About Us
At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers. Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.
About the Role
We’re looking for a high‑impact leader to join the Institutional Payments & Cash Management (PCM) Queensland team, based in the heart of Brisbane.
In this senior sales role, you’ll own a diverse and growing portfolio across the Institutional Property and Health (IPH) segments. You’ll lead the end‑to‑end PCM IPH strategy for Queensland, deepen trusted customer relationships, uncover material revenue opportunities, grow wallet share, and assist in originating new‑to‑bank relationships.
This is a portfolio with momentum and opportunity. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution—bringing industry insight, driving innovation, and solving complex client challenges by leveraging ANZ’s full suite of transaction banking solutions. Both the Property and Health sectors are undergoing fundamental transformation, with real‑time payments, liquidity solutions and digital enablement becoming critical to their future success. You’ll be right at the centre of that change.
Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: 111 Eagle Street, Brisbane QLD 4000
Work Hours: Full time (40hours/week)
What will you bring?
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a blend of curiosity, commercial acumen and collaborative energy:
- Experience in Payments & Cash Management is preferred, but not essential—a strong appetite to learn quickly is critical
- Genuine enthusiasm for being customer‑facing and adding tangible value as clients navigate digital transformation
- A collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a passion for building high‑performance cultures
- Strong communication skills, including facilitation and presentation at senior levels
- Strategic thinking paired with disciplined deal execution
- Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting client data and portfolio financial performance
- Exposure to the Property and/or Health sectors is advantageous, alongside a curiosity to continuously learn and apply payment solutions to real client objectives
- A strong risk mindset, with confidence operating within governance frameworks and speaking up when required
What will your day look like?
You might start the day with a team coffee (or a walk along the river), then dive into a fast‑paced and rewarding mix of client engagement, strategy discussions and internal collaboration.
- Impact: Play a direct role in delivering ANZ’s strategy—helping our customers and the bank succeed through digital transformation
- Innovation: Work at the forefront of transaction banking, leveraging leading‑edge technology such as real‑time payments and complex liquidity solutions
- Growth: Build your career with clear opportunities for personal and professional development
