About the Role

As a Manager, ESG within the 2nd LoD you will play a critical role in shaping and overseeing the bank’s ESG strategy, ensuring we manage emerging risks, meet regulatory expectations, and seize opportunities to create long-term value for customers, communities, and the environment.

 

Role Location: Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney

Role Type: Permanent, Fulltime 

What will your day look like?

As a Manager, ESG, you will: 

 

  • Lead the oversight and challenge of Suncorp Bank’s ESG frameworks, programs, and strategy implementation across the business.
  • Collaborate with First Line stakeholders to assess and challenge ESG-related activities, ensuring they align with regulatory and organisational priorities.
  • Support Suncorp Bank’s contribution to the broader ANZ Group climate and ESG programs.
  • Monitor and analyse physical and transition climate risks to inform enterprise risk decisions and frameworks.
  • Oversee ESG disclosures and regulatory reporting to ensure transparency, accuracy, and alignment with best practices.
  • Contribute to the integration of ESG considerations into enterprise-wide stress testing and quantitative risk assessments.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:  

 

  • Strong experience in ESG or sustainability risk management within financial services, ideally with exposure to second line or risk oversight roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG regulations, reporting frameworks (e.g. TCFD, ISSB), and climate risk considerations.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to support data-driven risk assessments and stress testing.
  • Proven ability to engage and challenge constructively across multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving responsible banking and inclusive practices.
