The Chapter Lead is an exciting leadership role that combines people leadership with technical expertise. They are responsible for cultivating a high performing team culture and driving team member’s growth to build a world-class practice.
The Chapter Lead keeps a sharp eye on strategic workforce planning and ensures the members of the Chapter have the support and guidance to deliver on their missions.
The Chapter Lead has a foot in both people and delivery camps, meaning you will spend time across tech delivery activities, driving innovation, uplifting tech capability, setting standards and principles and driving innovation for the Chapter, although not in a delivery team.
About the Role
As an Analyst Chapter Lead in Tech New Zealand squad, you will be responsible for leading a chapter of engineers by guiding them on "how" to work and their professional development. They are responsible for developing mastery of capability in their chapter.

What will your day look like?
- Guide and Develop Your Team: Lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment that promotes growth, open communication, and continuous learning. You’ll be a coach and mentor, inspiring the team to achieve their best.
- Drive Product Strategy and Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define the product vision and strategy, set and prioritize the roadmap, and oversee delivery. You’ll ensure that product development aligns with the organization’s goals and provides a seamless user experience.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Serve as the central point of contact for stakeholders across business units. Capture and communicate business needs effectively, bridging the gap between technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions that align with strategic objectives.
- Champion Agile Practices: Promote and implement Agile methodologies within your team, leading ceremonies and ensuring processes are efficient and productive. Your leadership in Agile will drive continuous improvement and maintain momentum for deliverables.
- Conduct Business Analysis: Engage in detailed business analysis, gathering and clarifying requirements, developing user stories, and producing documentation. You’ll help create processes and workflows that improve business outcomes and align technical solutions with strategic priorities.

- Product Ownership Skills: Experience as a Product Owner, with a strong ability to turn business needs into a strategic product roadmap. Ability to balance and prioritize requirements based on impact and feasibility.
- Analytical and Business Analysis Proficiency: Expertise in business analysis, with a strong ability to gather and translate requirements, document processes, and provide insights that shape strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Management Ability: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels ideally in an enterprise scale organisation working across different geographies
- Agile Methodology Knowledge: Solid understanding and experience in Agile frameworks, enabling you to lead Agile practices within the team and drive continuous improvement.
- Problem-Solving Orientation: A proactive approach to identifying, analyzing, and resolving challenges, ensuring that solutions are effective and aligned with business objectives.
Skills
- Must have 15+ years of relevant experience in any of Testing, Business Analysis, Project Management, Product Ownership or Agile Coaching in an enterprise scale organization
- Product Management Tools: Proficiency with product management and roadmapping tools, such as Jira, Trello, or Productboard, to manage backlogs, sprints, and roadmaps effectively.
- Business Analysis Tools: Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro for creating process maps, workflows, and diagrams. Knowledge of Excel, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data analysis and generating insights.
- Agile & Scrum Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, with hands-on experience in Scrum practices and frameworks. Certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP) is a plus.
- Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Proficient in capturing and managing requirements through tools like Confluence, SharePoint, or Microsoft Teams for documentation and collaboration.
- Project Management Tools: Knowledge of tools like MS Project, Asana, or Smartsheet to facilitate project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment across teams.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Basic knowledge of SQL or similar querying languages for data retrieval and analysis. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to derive insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Familiarity with testing processes and QA tools such as Selenium, Postman, or JMeter, and an understanding of how to set up testing plans or participate in UAT.
- API & Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of APIs and data integrations, enabling effective collaboration with development teams when defining product requirements or troubleshooting.
- UX/UI Knowledge: Awareness of UX/UI principles, enabling effective collaboration with design teams and the ability to contribute to discussions on user experience and interface improvements.
