About the Role
As an Analyst in Post Trade Operations – Institutional Markets Technology you’ll play a key role in helping to enable ANZ Markets to deliver superior, reliable and compliant financial services by providing resilient, scalable and efficient technology platforms that support end-to-end trading lifecycle and customer outcomes.
This role partners closely with Product Owners, engineers and operations stakeholders to refine and prioritise the squad backlog, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and aligned to business value and regulatory outcomes. The Analyst manages dependencies, translates features into actionable user stories, and validates delivery outcomes through effective analysis and testing. They contribute to delivery excellence by collaborating as one team, influencing outcomes through strong stakeholder engagement, and ensuring solutions meet customer and operational needs.

What will your day look like?
As an Analyst, you will:
• Partner with Product Owners and Operations stakeholders to refine and prioritise requirements for confirmations, matching, reconciliation and regulatory reporting processes, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and regulatory obligations.
• Work closely with engineers and platform SMEs (Xceptor, TRAM, SmartDX/Thunderhead) to translate business scenarios into clear user stories and functional designs, including handling of exceptions, breaks, and edge cases across post-trade workflows.
• Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end post-trade lifecycle flows (trade capture → confirmation → matching → reconciliation → reporting) and ensure solutions are consistent across upstream and downstream systems.
• Drive high-quality analysis, documentation and traceability, ensuring requirements are testable, auditable, and aligned to regulatory and control expectations.
• Support sprint planning, estimation and demand management, working with squads to balance delivery commitments, production priorities, and operational risk.
• Provide production support and incident analysis for critical platforms (e.g. failed confirmations, matching breaks, reporting issues), ensuring timely resolution, root cause identification, and improvements.
• Validate and verify changes deployed to production, ensuring outcomes meet business expectations and do not impact downstream processes such as settlement or regulatory reporting.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement and automation opportunities (e.g. STP uplift, exception reduction, workflow optimisation), improving operational efficiency and platform stability.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes across Operations, Product Owners and Engineers, ensuring alignment to business priorities and regulatory expectations.
• Solid understanding of capital markets and post-trade lifecycle (FX/OTC, confirmations, matching, reconciliation and regulatory reporting).
• Proven experience working as a Business/Systems Analyst within Agile squads, translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and deliverable technology solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including investigation of production issues, root cause analysis and data validation (e.g. SQL or similar tools).
• Ability to work as one team across global squads, collaborating effectively and contributing to a high-performing, delivery-focused culture.
• Good to have experience with post-trade platforms such as Xceptor, TRAM, or SmartDX/Thunderhead, or similar workflow-driven systems.
• Hands-on exposure to test strategy, functional testing and validation, ensuring changes meet quality standards before release.
• Good understanding of Agile, Scrum and SDLC practices, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced delivery environments.
• A strong focus on delivering excellence and putting customers first, ensuring solutions reduce operational effort, improve STP and enhance user experience.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify automation opportunities, facilitate discussions/workshops and bring innovative ideas to improve processes and platform efficiency.
