About the Role

As an Engineer, within the Technology Assurance & Controls team, you will be responsible for building and running a number of risk, delivery & control testing solutions both on-premises and in cloud environments. You will be integral to managing automation of control and control testing which allows ANZ to be proactive and leading in their technology risk management practices. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of risk, controls and delivery frameworks as well as have a deep proven understanding in technology.  They are intensely curious in technology and data with a passion for ensuring quality across all facets of technology operations and delivery, including following emerging regulatory trends, how they could apply to ANZ and appropriate solutions to respond.

What will your day look like?

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Software development & production support for Risk Assurance applications and tools
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other delivery teams to deliver outcome
  • Deliver ANZ Technology Assurance & Controls team “Automation” agenda, including Vertex AI development
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions to provide more effective and insightful analysis, oversight and engagement

What will you bring?

  • Must have 4+ years of hands-on Python full stack development (preferably Django or similar frameworks)
  • Strong expertise software development experience and solid experience in:
  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS (frontend development)
  • SQL (database design, query optimisation)

 

Experience or exposure to:

  • Cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
  • Data visualisation tools (Qlik, Tableau)
  • ServiceNow Administrative

 

Team player, self-driven and thrive to learn and succeed.

 

Good to have skills:

  • Understanding of risk, controls, and delivery frameworks in enterprise environments
  • Experience working on automation of governance, controls, or compliance processes

 

Ability to:

Translate technical data into meaningful business insights

Communicate effectively through data storytelling and visualisation

  • Exposure to ANZ systems and integration patterns (2+ years preferred)
  • Quick adaptability to new tools and technologies with a “can-do” attitude

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
