About Us

At ANZ, we're applying new ways technology and data can be harnessed as we work towards a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

Our community of over 5,000 engineers is key to making this happen, because technology underpins every part of our business - from delivering tools, apps and services for our customers, to building a bank for the future.

About the Role

As an Engineer in Markets Digital Sales Technology, you’ll play a key role in helping to provide secure & reliable services underpinned by Markets data, with guarantees such as stability, consistency and integrity. The role requires strong analytical & development skills in Java. Additionally, experience in ETL tools such as ‘EDM’ (or other) would be highly advantageous.

The Engineer will be involved in end-to-end management of solutions, from coding to deployment through non-prod and guidance to the Support team for finally deploying to production. The Engineer will be a key contributor to the Implementation Plans for these production deployments. The role also has a shared responsibility in supporting the 2nd level Support team in resolving technical issues.

The role requires an eye for continuous improvement, identifying and driving through initiatives that improve the efficiencies and effectiveness of the individual as well as the team. The individual would be a good self-learner, having the ability to reverse-engineer existing Java applications.

The Engineer contributes to Engineering communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices.

Note: The role forms part of a support roster and will be required to be available some weekends for on-call work to support our releases. It is expected this will be approximately 2 weeks in every 8.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
