As a Senior Specialist – Client Engagement, KYC within our Institutional KYC Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding ANZ and our customers by mitigating financial crime risks.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Customer outreach and working directly with existing customers to explain the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of ANZ’s ever increasing policy requirements for AML-CTF and KYC.
- Facilitating KYC directly with customers on behalf of Institutional Relationship teams and Product partners.
- Ensuring and taking ownership for KYC delivery (while ultimate ownership and responsibility for KYC belongs with the RM/Banker).
- Providing a customer centric approach that minimises effort and rework and improves the client experience in the KYC process.
- Ensuring KYC “collect” requirements are fully compliant with ANZ regulatory obligations and ANZ AML/CTF policies and procedures and these are correctly loaded and linked in the KYC system (Gold Tier).
- Providing specialist SME KYC support and advise Institutional Bankers & customers regarding KYC requirements for all legal entity types.
- Providing guidance to the customer on KYC requirements in a clear, concise and customer friendly manner – providing a high CX.
- Providing subject matter expertise on KYC requirements and assist with solutions for policy exceptions to other team members.
- This role is the conduit between the customer and ANZ to complete KYC in a streamlined, efficient manner with the customer lens overlay.
- Support and assist your line manager as back-up during his/her absence.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Over 5 years of experience in customer-facing roles, both in-person and via phone.
- Proven experience of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.
- Strong business acumen with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and professional networks.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
- Comprehensive understanding of Institutional KYC, including AML/CTF legislation and its application within the banking and financial services industry, with awareness of key industry challenges, trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in utilizing core banking systems such as GOLDTIER, CACHE, ORION, MIDANZ, and DSD.
- Advanced computer literacy with hands-on experience in KYC/AML/CTF technology platforms.
- Possesses an inquisitive mindset, adept at probing, investigating anomalies, and driving processes to resolution.
- Holds a graduate degree or higher in any discipline.
- Relevant certifications in Risk Management, AML/CTF, or Fraud.
