About the Role

 

This role is responsible for supporting the management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) across Transaction Banking Digital products, platforms, and client solutions, including Digital Payments, Cash Management, Client Connectivity, APIs, Digital Channels, and related technology-enabled banking capabilities.

 

Working under the guidance of senior NFR colleagues, the role partners with Product, Sales, Implementation, Operations, Technology, Digital Delivery, and Control Functions to provide practical risk support that enables safe, sustainable, and customer-focused outcomes.

 

At the Junior Associate Director level, the role supports the identification, assessment, monitoring, management, and reporting of material non-financial risks across the end-to-end product, platform, and client lifecycle. The incumbent will contribute to strengthening the control environment, supporting digital transformation initiatives, product and platform changes, governance activities, and regulatory readiness, while escalating issues, incidents, and emerging risks through appropriate channels.

What will your day look like?

This role is accountable for supporting the delivery of the following outcomes:

 

Product and Digital Risk Support

  • Support senior NFR colleagues in providing practical risk advice across Transaction Banking Digital products, digital channels, client connectivity solutions, APIs, and platform transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare analysis on product and platform risk profiles, control effectiveness, customer outcomes, and risk impacts associated with digital change initiatives.
  • Translate product, operational, technology, cyber, and data risk information into clear insights, reports, and updates for stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Support risk management activities across Digital Payments, Cash Management platforms, digital client channels, APIs, and related Transaction Banking capabilities.
    Risk and Control Environment
  • Assist with the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of non-financial risks across the end-to-end digital product and platform lifecycle.
  • Support management of operational, technology, cyber, data, fraud, third-party, compliance, conduct, financial crime, and resilience risks.
  • Maintain risk and control documentation, collate evidence, analyse key risk indicators, and monitor actions, issues, and remediation plans.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, control reviews, issue management, incident response, and remediation activities across digital platforms and capabilities.
    Product Change, Delivery and Implementation Risk
  • Support risk input for new digital products, platform enhancements, digital payment capabilities, client connectivity solutions, API implementations, and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Assist with risk assessments, implementation controls, dependency tracking, and governance activities through design, testing, rollout, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Identify potential operational, technology, cyber, resilience, or control concerns and escalate them through appropriate channels.
    Governance, Regulatory Readiness and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Prepare governance materials, issue updates, action trackers, risk reports, and supporting documentation for relevant risk and business forums.
  • Support a regulator-ready environment through accurate documentation, evidence management, and timely action closure.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Operations, Technology, Digital, Compliance, Legal, Financial Crime, Second Line Risk, and Internal Audit teams to deliver effective risk outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory and policy requirements across digital products and platforms.
    Risk Culture and Capability
  • Promote strong first-line risk ownership and accountability across digital product and technology teams.
  • Share lessons learned from incidents, audits, reviews, and regulatory feedback to strengthen risk awareness.
  • Support the continuous improvement of digital risk management practices, governance frameworks, controls, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of a proactive risk culture across Transaction Banking Digital.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, Non-Financial Risk, Operational Risk, Controls, Governance, Compliance, Technology Risk, Digital Banking, or Risk Management roles.
  • Strong understanding of Transaction Banking Digital products and capabilities, including Digital Payments, Cash Management, Client Connectivity, APIs, Digital Channels, and online banking platforms.
  • Sound understanding of Non-Financial Risk management concepts, including risk assessments, controls, governance, issue and incident management, risk reporting, and risk-in-change.
  • Knowledge of key risks associated with digital banking and technology-enabled products, including operational, cyber, technology, data, fraud, third-party, conduct, compliance, financial crime, and resilience risks.
  • Exposure to Digital Payments, Client Connectivity, API Banking, Cash Management platforms, digital channels, or related Transaction Banking solutions.
  • Ability to analyze risk and control information, identify emerging themes, prepare concise documentation, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Experience supporting governance processes, risk assessments, issue management, control uplift activities, remediation programs, and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk information into clear and actionable insights.
  • Proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, technology, risk, and control functions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, strong risk culture, and sustainable risk outcomes.
