About the Role



This role supports the management of non-financial risk in the International business, with a focus on London, Paris and Frankfurt branches. You will work with business and risk partners to help ensure NFR risks across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage are identified, assessed, managed and reported in line with risk appetite.

 

The role contributes to effective risk governance and a strong risk culture by supporting decision-making, regulatory compliance and sound customer and business outcomes.

 

It also assists in understanding and implementing regulatory requirements, ensuring changes are embedded into business and control processes in a practical and timely way. In addition, the role supports the effective execution of New Product Due Diligence (NPDD) and Ongoing Product Review (OPR) processes, helping to ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and managed throughout the product lifecycle. The role also supports the delivery and embedding of the PACT program to uplift non-financial risk capability and processes across the region.

What will your day look like?

As a Senior Associate NFR, you will:

  • Support business leaders on non-financial risk matters, helping them make informed decisions within risk appetite
  • Provide input and challenge on key risk themes, control effectiveness and risk impacts across business activities
  • Build strong working relationships with business, product, risk and control partners
  • Support the application of the non-financial risk framework, including governance forums, reporting and escalation
  • Help identify, assess, monitor and report material risks, ensuring issues are raised in a timely manner
  • Identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting on NFR Events, Issues and KRI’s
  • Contribute to improving controls, processes and risk management practices
  • Support a regulator-ready environment through good documentation and issue management
  • Assist in implementing regulatory changes by translating requirements into practical actions
  • Stay aware of emerging risks and regulatory expectations
  • Support the delivery of PACT initiatives in country
  • Track progress, escalate risks or issues and help drive adoption of new processes and controls
  • Work collaboratively with the International NFR team to deliver strong risk outcomes
  • Engage with key stakeholders across business, Risk and control functions
  • Help ensure consistent risk practices while recognising local market requirements

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in institutional banking and non-financial risk, with understanding of Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage
  • Working knowledge of non-financial risk frameworks, governance and control environments in a large organisation
  • Ability to support business stakeholders and contribute to balanced risk and commercial decisions
  • Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical business actions
  • Exposure to regulatory change or risk/control improvement initiatives, ideally across multiple locations or teams
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain risk issues clearly and simply
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner

 

"Good to have" Skills, Knowledge and Experience and the role requires are:

 

  • Exposure to risk, control or regulatory change initiatives
  • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. prudential, conduct or operational risk) in banking
  • Experience using data or reporting to support risk insights and decision-making
  • Familiarity with risk systems, governance tools or control monitoring processes
