About the Role
The Diversified Specialised Industries (DSI) team in Commercial Australia plays a key role in supporting ANZ’s Commercial business by delivering insights and solutions tailored to clients across Agribusiness, Health and Property and various industries within the Emerging Corporate sector. The Associate role sits between Senior Analyst and Lead Associate, requiring the ability to independently execute tasks while working closely with onshore stakeholders.
The Associate will collaborate with the Australia DSI Insights teams to provide insight-driven financial and industry analysis, develop high-quality pitch materials, and support data-driven decision-making. The role will focus on delivering strategic insights that enhance client engagement and business outcomes while leveraging financial modelling, Excel-based analytics, and PowerPoint storytelling to support key initiatives.

What will your day look like?
Financial Analysis & Industry Research
- Conduct in-depth financial and industry analysis focused on Emerging Corporate, Agribusiness, and Health and Property sector clients.
- Support pitch development by creating insightful presentations that distil complex financial information into clear, compelling narratives.
- Develop and maintain financial models and data models in Excel, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Pitch Book & Presentation Development
- Support the development of comprehensive Pitch Books and client presentations using PowerPoint.
- Work closely with the DSI Australia team to refine key materials tailored to client needs and industry dynamics.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Engage directly with the DSI team in Commercial Australia to understand key client priorities and support business initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with onshore stakeholders to deliver research, presentations, and financial insights that align with strategic goals.
Data Management & Process Improvement
- Maintain and organize structured datasets relevant to the target industries, ensuring accessibility and usability for analysis.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Financial Analysis & Modelling: Strong proficiency in financial modelling and industry benchmarking techniques.
- Pitch Book & Presentation Development: Advanced PowerPoint skills with the ability to build structured, visually appealing, and data-driven presentations.
- Excel Expertise: Proficiency in data handling, dashboard creation, and automation of financial models.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work effectively with remote teams and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Prior experience in banking, financial services, or strategy consulting.
- Familiarity with basic accounting concepts and corporate finance.
- Ability to automate or improve existing Excel workflows using VBA or Power Query.
- Experience working with Australian corporate clients and understanding of commercial lending frameworks.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of key trends, financial structures, and operational models within Healthcare, Real Estate, and the FBA sector.
