About the Role

As a Security Engineer in the Vulnerability Services Squad, you will drive ANZ's information security efforts by providing Subject Matter Expertise in accessing platform and applications vulnerabilities, provide technical guidance to drive remediation effort and integration of vulnerability scanning toolset within the enterprise.  You will be working with analysts to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of ANZ systems from cyber threats.  In addition, you will maintain the application security toolset infrastructure and keep the vulnerability scanning platform up to date across the enterprise.

What will your day look like?

  • Monitoring, identifying, and reporting platform and application vulnerabilities across the ANZ enterprise.
  • Undertaking security investigations to protect the ANZ network.
  • Managing and using strategic / approved tools related to vulnerability identification.
  • Using Web Application Scanning (WAS) tools like Tenable.sc
  • Staying up to date with new and emerging vulnerabilities and escalating any of interest to appropriate teams for further evaluation.
  • Addressing security incidents with the understanding of incident response procedures
  • Using Service Now Vulnerability Response module.
  • Identifying and monitoring vulnerabilities disclosed by vendors.
  • Working with team members to identify opportunities to improve or automate
  • Assist internal stakeholders in vulnerability remediation.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Must Haves

 

  • Proven experience in performing Infrastructure Vulnerability Scans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting scan results, conducting vulnerability assessments, identifying security issues, prioritizing remediation efforts, and recommending remediation actions.
  • Hands-on experience on tools like Tenable.sc and other Web Application Scanning (WAS) tools.
  • Experience in scanning for vulnerabilities in cloud assets hosted in AWS and GCP.
  • Strong understanding to contribute towards enhancement of vulnerability management lifecycle.
  • Understanding of incident response procedures and the role of vulnerability management plays in addressing security incidents.
  • Enterprise vulnerability Reporting using combination of ETL and CMDB resources.
  • Experience on Service Now Vulnerability Response module.
  • Zero Day and critical vulnerability management: Ability to scope new and existing vulnerabilities from various sources and understand enterprise-wide impact of particular vulnerabilities

 

Desired

 

  • Knowledge of IT network, cloud networking and security related tools.
  • Strong willingness to research to stay updated on the latest vulnerabilities, exploits and security best practices.
  • Understanding on Data Orchestration and representation tools.
  • Awareness with cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) & container (Docker, Kubernetes & OpenShift) security.
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to convey complex technical information to different types of stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant Cybersecurity / ServiceNow certifications  (CISSP, CISM, ServiceNow CTA/CMA etc)
