We’re seeking a talented Risk Data Solutions Manager to join the Risk Data team within our NZ Risk division.

 

As a Risk Data Solutions manager, you will play a key role in executing an agreed work plan to support various transformation initiatives (e.g. developing new data processing to a Risk’s strategic cloud platform, new reporting & analytical tool).

 

Collaborating with the Strategy and Enablement team, you will provide business analyst support to inform the NZ Risk data roadmap, scope new projects and support technical decision making.

 

This role will contribute to developing Critical Data Management capabilities to govern critical data elements with effective data controls.

What will your day look like?

As a Risk Data Solutions manager, you are accountable for:

  • Play a key role in executing an agreed work plan to support various transformation initiatives (e.g. developing new data processing to a Risk’s strategic cloud platform, new reporting & analytical tool).

  • Provide business analyst support to inform the NZ Risk data roadmap, scope new projects and support technical decision making in consultation with NZ and Group stakeholders.

  • Manage reporting and monitoring that provides visibility of interdependencies and transformation progress.

  • Support to develop data management capabilities to build data controls and govern critical data elements that are used in regulatory processes.

  • Collaborating with the Strategy and Enablement team, provide hands-on support to onboard new data and use cases within Risk Data Hub, and build strong relationship with technical SMEs within the delivery teams that NZ Risk is dependent on.

  • Prepare supporting materials to inform data transformation benefits and progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate NZ RMM ways of working processes, supporting teams to effectively plan, manage capacity and get benefit from Jira and other productivity tools.

  • Collaborate with the Risk Data team to develop a well-engaged and high performing risk data team, who are forward looking, well respected and dynamic.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Engineering, or a related field.

  • SME technical leader with 8+ years’ experience in data field with proven experience (5+ years) in data management or transformation in banking or financial services.

  • Good understanding of the bank’s business activities and related data requirements.

  • Experience in large scale data delivery in banking or financial industry.

  • Practical understanding of data architecture and data modelling principles.

  • Good understanding of CPG235 and BCBS239 in addition to solid experience in data management practices.

  • Experience with modern Data Management techniques using advanced technologies.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to build strong, open and collaborative relationships.

  • Experience in Agile practices.

  • Problem solving skills with critical thinking ability
