The role sits within Core Finance (Treasury) Tech area under the Enterprise Finance and Data domain in Group Services division. Treasury systems are Group OFSAA, ABS+ and a number of SaaS products.  We service the Group Treasury Business, and our systems have complex upstream and downstream integration footprint.

As a Quality Engineering Lead, the primary function of this role is to oversee a small team and provide Quality Engineers over engineering changes, in a hands-on manner.  The secondary function of this role (10% of your time) is to act as an engineer and deliver small changes.  This role will suit someone who is strong on the Quality Engineering side and is interested in extending themselves to add engineering skills.  This role would also suit an engineer with an interest in developing their QE skills.

As a QE Lead, your role is to lead a team that designs & executes functional and non-functional tests, develops scripts to automate tests, works closely with Business and Technical users to clarify requirements and resolve defects, supports test environments, reports on defects and ensure that all changes deployed to production are free from defects.

You will work in the Treasury Tech squad, alongside the Group Treasury Systems & Data team that will have accountability for some parts of the technology stack.  

What will your day look like?

As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will responsible for;

  • Understanding requirements from engineering leads/functional designers/business requestor
  • Working on functional and non-functional tests on the OFSAA & OBIEE platforms, encompassing changes to:
    • ETL & Data Mapping
    • Control-M Batch Scheduling / Splunk Alerting
    • PMM Framework (Batch Process Execution)
    • OFSAA APEX User Interface
    • Inbound File Management (incl. Load to SNP)
    • OFSAA Outbound File Management
    • OFSAA PAD Tool
    • OFSAA Integration Mgt (Connect:Direct, Control-M, others)
    • OFSAA OBIEE Reporting Build and Server Administration
  • Work with other squads on integration testing
  • Lead your team to schedule changes and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure the Growth and Development of your team 
  • Support business users in Business Acceptance Testing
  • Write test scope, determine test data needs, review engineering changes and execute test cases.   Raise defects as required and assist the engineers in resolving defects.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Passionate about solving business problems through innovation and strong engineering practices
  • 7+ years of IT experience, including 2+ years managing or leading team members
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills for data validation, defect investigation, and root cause analysis
  • Experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and at least one 3GL programming language; ETL and batch processing exposure preferred
  • Familiarity with batch/integration tools (e.g., Control‑M, Connect:Direct) and UNIX scripting is an advantage
  • Exposure to OFSAA, OBIEE, Oracle APEX, and standard development tools (e.g., GitHub) is highly regarded
  • Strong data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with tech squads and business stakeholders
  • Experience with Agile planning, Jira/defect management, testing, and basic ITIL processes preferred
