About the Role

In the role of Payments Processing Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the classification and pre-assessment process, ensuring accurate evaluation and categorization of cases, requests, or applications. You will review submitted information, verify completeness and compliance with guidelines, identify priorities and risk factors, and determine appropriate classifications based on established criteria. Through detailed analysis and timely decision-making, you will help drive operational efficiency, maintain assessment consistency, and support high-quality outcomes. You will also facilitate seamless handovers between teams, enabling strong collaboration, enhancing stakeholder relationships, and delivering an exceptional customer experience across the end-to-end process.

Work Hours: 1:00 AM (IST) onwards, subject to daylight savings.

What will your day look like?


As a Payments Processing Officer, you will:

 

  • Process and validate payment transactions in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational procedures.
  • Investigate and respond to customer and correspondent bank enquiries, ensuring timely resolution and exceptional service.
  • Review transactions for accuracy, identify exceptions or risks, and escalate suspicious, fraudulent, or erroneous activities promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory, compliance, and operational reports while ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Update customer records with clear, concise notes and facilitate smooth handovers across teams to support seamless operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce processing time, enhance productivity, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teammates, provide process guidance, and consistently demonstrate ANZ's risk, compliance, and customer-centric values in all activities.

 

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in banking, lending, payments, or financial services operations.
  • Strong knowledge of banking processes, lending principles, accounting, and financial concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and excellent data entry and analytical skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.
