About the Role
As an Operations Senior Analyst plays a critical role in banking and financial operations, particularly in managing and reconciling Nostro accounts. These accounts are foreign currency accounts that a bank holds with another bank in a different country to facilitate international transactions. As a senior analyst, the responsibilities extend beyond routine reconciliation to include investigating complex discrepancies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving process improvements. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across global teams to maintain accuracy, mitigate risks, and support efficient cross-border payment operations.

What will your day look like?
As an Operations Senior Analyst , you will be responsible for:
- Performing daily Nostro account reconciliations to identify, investigate, and resolve breaks and discrepancies within established service levels.
- Leveraging platforms such as TLM RP, AMH, PEGA PRS, PIC AU/NZ, FMM, FMP, GPP AU/NZ/APEA, TG UI, Finacle 10, AU066, BeamNet, and MIDANZ to support reconciliation, payments, and transaction processing activities.
- Investigating unmatched transactions, payment exceptions, and outstanding items to ensure timely resolution and minimize operational risk.
- Partnering with internal teams and correspondent banks to resolve queries and maintain seamless cross-border payment operations.
- Executing key controls, maintaining audit-ready documentation, and ensuring adherence to regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements.
- Conducting root cause analysis of reconciliation breaks and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Preparing and delivering management reports on outstanding items, investigation outcomes, aging breaks, and operational performance metrics.
- Supporting automation initiatives, system enhancements, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities to improve processes and strengthen operational controls.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in payments, transaction processing, banking operations, fintech, or corporate treasury environments.
- Strong understanding of Nostro/Vostro account operations, reconciliation processes, and break management.
- Hands-on expertise in SWIFT/ISO messaging (MT940, MT942, MT103, MT202) and end-to-end payment lifecycle management.
- Solid knowledge of global payment systems, cross-border settlements, and correspondent banking practices.
- Good understanding of AML, sanctions screening, regulatory requirements, and operational risk controls within banking operations.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation breaks through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reconciliation platforms, SWIFT applications, and MS Excel, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications (Master's/MBA) will be considered an advantage.
