About the Role
As an Engineer in NZ Pacific Domain, you’ll be working as part of a high-performing cross-functional team that focuses on implementing, maintaining and running the CPaaS (Container Platform based around Red Hat’s Openshift) platforms which include automation (infrastructure developer), support, Audit/Compliance, Life Cycle Management, platform upgrades and accelerating the adoption of container technologies etc. You will need significant hands-on engineering, infrastructure development and scripting experience to provide a Stable & Secure CPaaS environment for our customers.

What will your day look like?
- Great written communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and easy to consume manner
- Great with people and know-how to build and maintain relationships. You’ll be able to inspire, facilitate, communicate, and negotiate with ease.
- Comfortable coding in one or more languages (bash, Golang, Python, Terraform etc), and you use these skills to automate as much as possible.
- Ability to advise upon, design, and implement cloud security, availability, and reliability best practice.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as code such as Terraform, along with continuous integration/delivery tooling.
- Ability to quickly grasp new content and the ability to translate this to your Chapter
- A resilient personality and comfortable with changeable to overcome setbacks as they occur.
- You are passionate about growing & developing others and have a proven track record in coaching and mentoring
What will you bring?
- Must have 10+Years of experience
- Excellent communication and technical consulting skills to help you effectively communicate with our team and customers.
- You're a self-starter who enjoys taking on challenges and thrives in an agile environment.
- You take pride in your work and are committed to completing tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
- You're great at building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders to ensure that system requirements are developed and implemented with the customer in mind.
- You enjoy learning new technologies and new ways of working to keep up with the industry's ever-evolving landscape.
- You're experienced in automation and automated configuration management and CI/CD pipelines, and familiar with tools like Ansible, Puppet, and ArgoCD.
- You have a solid understanding of container and microservices design patterns.
- You have experience or knowledge of various application deployment patterns on Kubernetes/openshift.
- You're skilled at understanding and resolving complex interdependencies of docker, Kubernetes & other infrastructure components, especially networking.
- You have a deep understanding of image, container & Kubernetes security and at least years of in-depth Linux administration experience.
- If you have experience in OCP Cluster upgrades – With OpenShift 4 being highly advantageous.
- You have experience in OCP Cluster administration and troubleshooting incidents, and you're comfortable working with customer requests.
- You're able to communicate infrastructure changes to stakeholders and collaborate with various stakeholders and having an understanding of TLS/SSL certificates.
