About the Role
As an Lead Engineer in the NZ Pacific Domain, you will be responsible for overseeing complex integrated non-production environments, ensuring proper governance, provisioning, maintenance, and release management. You will provide technical leadership for environment management within the WLO Program, managing integrated non-production environments and leading a team of supporting technical resources.
Core Purpose: Manage technical non-production environments across internal and SaaS applications.

What will your day look like?
- Strategic Thinking: Providing strategic advice and making informed decisions and balancing short-term needs with long term vision.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge in Cloud Engineering/migration/transformation, Infrastructure & Platform (incl. SAAS) Engineering, associated knowledge for environments connection/plumbing for end-to-end system integration
- Coaching: Helping people move from where they are to where they want to be using effective coaching techniques and strategies.
- Counsel and Guidance: Providing accurate and ethical advice, recommendations and/or thought leadership, based on expertise and experience, to address needs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring the quality and viability of working solutions through quality practices and rigorous testing with a customer centric focus.
- Service Design: Planning and organising people, process, infrastructure and material components of a service. The goal is to improve its quality, efficiency and the interaction between the service provider and the end user.
- Relationship Management: Building, maintaining and influencing relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Systems Analysis: Translating business requirements into IT solutions by understanding needs, Build and Maintain. Environment Catalogue feasibility and impact
- Innovation and Problem-Solving: Encouraging innovative approaches to environment management & proactively addressing technical challenges and finding creative solutions.
What will you bring?
- Must have 12+years of relevant experience.
- Technical expertise in environment management and integration.
- Have exposure towards all phases of SDLC, STLC, go live & Post production environment associated activities
- Utilised fair knowledge and working experience based on ITIL, PMBOK & agile /hybrid approaches
- Provision and maintain environments to meet development, testing, and release schedules.
- Act as an escalation point for third-level support, orchestrate across teams, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Develop and enforce environment management policies and best practices.
- Proactively monitor and address environment vulnerabilities by using automated tooling and contributing to the technical remediation backlog.
- Identify and address risks related to environment stability, data integrity, and security and produce mitigation strategies.
- Align the Environment strategy with the overall transformation program goals & objectives through
- Ensuring system design and technologies utilised are implemented to meet requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations and access controls, ensuring that infrastructure operations and documentation standards are properly implemented and adhered to
- Expertise in Jira and Confluence will be essential for optimizing workflows, tracking progress in line with the program schedule.
- Your role will include Environment Planning and Management, Environment Governance (includes Provisioning & Maintenance), Release management – defect / incident triaging, adoption of tooling & automation, continuous improvement, performance metrics & reporting, playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless project execution and efficient collaboration.
- Responsibility also includes coordination / orchestration among teams, management of project timelines, assistance towards solving issues, strong stakeholder management, mentoring of team members, and knowledge transfer of technical information to applicable teams.
- You will take a lead role in driving the right engineering practices, standards, and agile way of working alongside overseeing technical delivery, helping to integrate environments with source & Downstream systems/interfaces with actions that lead to prioritised business and technology outcomes.

- Technical Proficiency and Innovation including exposure towards COTS product, cloud transformation, Automation, coding and scripting
- Knowledge and experience in cross platform integration, cloud based integrated test environments with source and downstream systems
- Must have knowledge in AWS EKS & RDS
- Must have knowledge in Azure, Ping, Connect Direct
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues and be good at asking hard questions, at the right time
- Exhibit holistic coverage while solutioning to the context
- Demonstrate effectiveness through leveraging automation, usage of AI (where applicable)
- Process knowledge that includes and not limited to change management, incident & problem management, Environment Capacity planning
