About the Role
As a Lead Engineer in NZ Technology Domain, you’ll play a key role in provide a technical IBM Mainframe administrative role in supporting and maintaining the Bank's Operational infrastructure for the Mainframe environment, thereby ensuring IAAS operationally meets its Business Service Delivery targets and maintains currency, stability and availability of all services managed within the Platform environment.

What will your day look like?
- Great written communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and easy to consume manner
- Performing Mainframe DB2 system administration roles including DB2 installs and version upgrades
- Performing Mainframe DB2 Incident /Problem and Change support activities
- Great with people and know-how to build and maintain relationships. You’ll be able to inspire, facilitate, communicate, and negotiate with ease.
- You can talk at length about mainframe concepts, security, storage and network
- Comfortable coding in one or scripting languages and you use these skills to automate as much as possible.
- Ability to advise upon, design, and implement operational procedures around backup, availability, and reliability best practice.
- Experience implementing Disaster recovery procedures, along with automation and alerting.
- Ability to quickly grasp new content and the ability to translate this to your Chapter
- A resilient personality and comfortable with changeable to overcome setbacks as they occur.
- You are passionate about growing & developing others and have a proven track record in teamwork , coaching and mentoring
What will you bring?
Must have’ knowledge, skills and experiences
- 10+ years Mainframe DB2 system admin experience
- Have personally performed DB2 release/version upgrades on Mainframe
- Previous Mainframe system product installation experience
- Ability to define and automate incident and threshold alerting
- Strong Mainframe z/OS skills and understanding
- Experience in implementing and performing backup and recovery procedures
- Experience with DR/Failover configuration, setup and operation
- Strong understanding of Mainframe security RACF system
- Demonstrate understanding of Mainframe Network and Storage concepts
- Demonstrate incident/problem analysis and resolution skills
Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences
- System programming skills in Assembler/REXX/Cobol
- Mainframe performance management experience
- Mainframe experience managing CICS/MQ . IIB environments
- Experience with operating and configuring mainframe zLinux environments
