About the Role
The role sits within the Research & Analysis (‘R&A’) function supporting the New Zealand Corporate team. The team is responsible for end-to-end management of a large and diverse portfolio of Mid-Market Enterprise clients across a range of sectors including retail, manufacturing, industrials, media, entertainment, etc. The role requires effective management of a high- volume portfolio ensuring timely delivery and proactive risk management.
Research & Analysis is primarily responsible for identifying and effectively managing risks with the Business and acting as the interface between Coverage and Risk. R&A aims to deliver well-balanced outcomes for ANZ, with a strong focus on customer, proactive risk management and efficiency. End-to-end relationship credit management process includes Credit Writing, Risk Grading, Risk Analysis & Credit Approval, Documentation and Portfolio Monitoring (well managed).

What will your day look like?
To perform research & analysis and other credit management activities for corporate clients, including:
- Identifying, assessing and managing risks inherent in the client’s capital and management structure, as well as financial performance.
- Prepare quality credit submissions through financial analysis, industry research and risk assessment.
- Managing a large and diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring timely completion of annual reviews, risk monitoring, credit approvals and other portfolio management activities.
- Driving end-to end credit processes, including risk grading, credit approval, documentation review, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
- Liaising with Relationship Managers and Credit on risk and financial performance related matters
- Maintaining portfolio quality in line with well managed principles, regulatory requirement and internal policies.
- Partnering with legal and other support functions to review, understand and execute deal documentation requirements.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 3-5 years’ work experience in credit risk, corporate banking, portfolio management or financial analysis.
- Strong credit analysis skills supported by sound business acumen.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to translate financial and business insights into actionable credit recommendations.
- Ability to deliver quality outcomes across a large and diverse client portfolio
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance from a premier institution or other avenues such as master’s in economics, etc
