About the Role

 

As a KYC Specialist , you will be part of the global KYC Institutional Onboarding Hub team supporting Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, New York. The hub team functions in close partnership with In-Country, Sales, Relationship, Credit, Legal, Compliance and Operations to ensure efficient and timely on-boarding/reviews across the Institutional & Markets infrastructure.

 

The KYC Onboarding & OCDD team within the Institutional division plays a critical role in onboarding new clients, reviewing existing customer profiles, and remediating client records to ensure that customer data remains AML/KYC compliant, aligned with Group Standards, adheres to international regulations and internal policies, and is accurate, relevant, and consistently linked across all applicable systems.
 

Onboarding and OCDD streams are responsible to perform creating KYC profiles for New to Bank customers and regular reviews across risk levels & ensure compliance to both internal policy and regulatory requirements. The team will focus on New to Bank on-boarding and Ongoing Customer Due Diligence/ Periodic Reviews & Remediation regularly to support Client Data Management activities like Name Changes, Event Driven Reviews, Mergers, Acquisitions, Off-boarding, gathering SSI details, SSI linkages in systems and client profile remediation. The role involves frequent interaction with Front Office, RMs, Compliance, On-boarding and other enablement function teams and therefore excellent inter-personal skills are required

What will your day look like?

 

As a KYC Specialist , you will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting New-to-Bank (NTB) and Ongoing Customer Due Diligence (OCDD) activities, including both Maker and Checker responsibilities as part of BAU operations.
  • Reviewing and validating KYC records across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with global standards, local regulations, and internal policies.
  • Ensuring KYC review files are risk, audit, and compliance-ready, while maintaining high-quality regulatory standards.
  • Liaising with clients to obtain required documentation, verify customer information, and identify dormant or inactive accounts.
  • Maintaining the integrity of customer profiles by ensuring onboarding systems are accurately configured, linked, and updated to support banking activities.
  • Reviewing and updating process documentation, procedures, and workflow guides to ensure alignment with policy and regulatory changes.
  • Performing Data Quality Checks, Spot Checks, and Quality Control reviews, while supporting the training and development of new team members.
  • Collaborating with global stakeholders, proactively managing escalations and reporting, and ensuring client data remains accurate, consistent, and relevant across the business.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience within the financial services industry, with a strong background in AML/KYC, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Strong expertise in KYC onboarding and OCDD processing across all risk categories (Low, Medium, High, and Extreme) and a broad range of client types, including Trusts, Charities, Foundations, Commercial and Corporate entities, Private Clients, Banks, Financial Institutions, Government bodies, Listed Companies, and Regulated entities.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services operations, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of key regulatory requirements and frameworks, including Dodd-Frank, FATCA, CRS, EMIR, MiFID, Volcker, as well as KYC systems and workflow tools.
  • Proven track record of meeting KPIs and SLAs while adhering to established Quality Control Frameworks and ensuring KYC files are risk and audit compliant.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure policy changes, KOPs, and procedural updates are accurately documented and implemented in a compliant manner.
  • Experience supporting new hire training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to drive team effectiveness and capability.
