About the Role
BG&C is ANZ’s Control Officer role in our Non-Financial Risk Framework. It is one of Seven critical accountability families across the Three Lines of Defence, that operate within the Group Risk Management Framework to ensure ANZ manages non-financial risk within appetite

What will your day look like?
This is a key role within Institutional Operations, Business Governance & Controls (BG&C). This role will be responsible for performing risk management activities such as Event Management, Business Risk Assessments KRI monitoring, Business risk reporting, and preparation of risk forum packs in a timely and effective manner while also contributing to the upliftment of Non-Financial Risk Management in Institutional Operations business.

Partner with Risk Owners and Control Owners to support them in discharging their responsibilities and accountabilities.

Oversee the consolidation of first line risk and control priorities and capability, assurance reporting, governance, and stakeholder management.

Drive uplift in risk culture across Institutional Operations and promote 'risk is everyone's responsibility'.

Lead a team of non-financial risk professionals to provide first line support to Global Institutional business.

Drive cultural change and embed non-financial risk (NFR) Framework and policies as the Line1 SME.

Proactively identify process and control weaknesses and provide meaningful feedback to the business to mitigate operational risk and meet compliance obligations.

Supporting and managing Change Non-Financial risks and be an enabler for business to drive and implement changes related to Business, Systems, Machine learning to any strategic changes.

Succeeding through collaboration with the Business and other dependent teams.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Min 5+ years of experience in non-financial risk management.

Demonstrated Experience in people Management
-
Ability to think strategically and work autonomously and collaboratively.

Understanding of Non-Financial Risk Management at ANZ and the role of the Control Officer.

Strong Stakeholder Management & influencing skills.
-
Relevant experience in the banking and financial services sector
-
Be curious and demonstrate an adaptive and growth mindset.

Structured thinking with demonstrated ability to use and apply innovative solutions to effectively manage non-financial risk.
Good to have skills:
-
Understanding of ANZ’s Institutional Business structure and function (particularly KYC & Onboarding business)

Familiarity with the I.AM Amplified transformation in progress.

Experience designing and implementing business process improvement.
