About the Role
As a Engineer in our Tech Group Services & Operations, you’ll play a key role in helping to take end to end accountability for leading and delivering high quality, fit for purpose, cost effective, enterprise aligned technology designs for projects and releases for ANZ. The engineer will be part of a squad and collaborate with other members of the tribe to deliver business outcomes using the agile methodology.
You will deeply understand engineering and the One Customer View (OCV) technology environment to increase the quality and efficiency of the outcomes being delivered by the squads as well ensuring the stability of systems.
The role will ensure that the OCV platform runs at scale efficiently and more reliably. You will strive to have a complete understanding of the platform, its functions and dependencies, code and configuration, playing a hands-on role.
Brings strong technical expertise and engineering discipline to contribute effectively within the team. Works closely with Product Area Managers, Lead Engineers, Product Owners, and Data & System Analysts within an Agile squad to translate business requirements into common, reusable technical capabilities.

What will you bring?
- Must have 8+years relevant experience.
- Hands on experience in IBM Information server - Infosphere DataStage 11.5 Parallel edition
- Good understanding on Metadata and data lineage
- Solid knowledge of database concepts. Oracle and Teradata preferred.
- Hands on experience on Shell Scripting, Stored procedures.
- Strong understanding of Infosphere DataStage design and run time architecture including near real time data integrations.
- Knowledge on Control-M, Connect Direct architecture patterns
- Understanding of mainframe EBCDIC files and Cobol copybooks multi layouts (read & write)
- Basics of Message queues and XML/XSD parsing in DataStage
- Able to demonstrate experience with software engineering practices including CI/CD, Automated testing and Performance Engineering with problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- Good understanding and exposure on GitHub, GHA, Confluence and Jira.
Good to have Skills:
- Additional expertise in QlikView/Qlik Sense, Python, ANZ technology platforms, GCP, and AI technologies would be advantageous for the role.
