About the Role
As an Engineer in the Encryption as a Service squad, you will be part of the Data Security tribe, partnering with business and technology teams to deliver Security @ Speed.
You will contribute to reducing data security risks across the bank by improving security controls and ensuring that critical platforms are well maintained and effectively managed.
In this role, you will work on advancing Encryption as a Service capability, with primary focus on Advanced Data Protection and KMaaS platforms. You will support service & platform enhancements, integrations, and operational improvements, while also contributing to proof-of-concept activities for emerging solutions.

What will your day look like?
- Work in a collaborative team to explore business initiatives and deliver secure solutions
- Perform test cases and validation for proof‑of‑concept key discovery tools
- Support and manage encryption, key management service (KMS), and Data Security Manager (DSM) solutions
- Assist in deployment, maintenance, and improvement of encryption platforms
- Partner with stakeholders across business and technology to strengthen data security controls
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes and solutions
- Operate effectively in environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities
- Challenge the status quo, whilst always looking for opportunities for continuous improvement

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Must have 5+ years relevant experience.
- Experience with Encryption as a Service solution (e.g., Hashicorp Vault, or similar)
- Working Experience with Key Management Services (KMS) is required- while experience with Data Security Manager (DSM) platforms is highly regarded
- Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Action or CodeFresh
- Strong Linux administration skills and understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Experience with infrastructure management (UNIX, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong programming and scripting skills (Shell/Bash, Python)
- Knowledge of authentication protocols (Basic Auth, OAuth, Kubernetes Auth, LDAP, Certificate Auth)
- Experience using monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or equivalent

- Exposure to or interest in quantum computing concepts, particularly in relation to future cryptography or post quantum encryption
