About the Role

The Delivery & Change, Centre of Excellence – GCC Lead is accountable for establishing and leading a team of project professionals who will work alongside the New Zealand and Pacific based teams to deliver ANZ’s strategically prioritised large programs, projects and business initiatives. 
 

As a Delivery Lead, you will play a critical role in driving ANZ project delivery success. The position is responsible to establish a high functioning team of delivery professionals who will work within NZ and Pacific delivery teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of strategic projects. You will ensure that all projects are delivered to a high standard of quality, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction. 

 

This role plays a key part in enhancing project delivery performance for the NZ Division by leveraging data, metrics and strategic alignment. It involves removing delivery roadblocks, ensuring value delivery and fostering a high-performance, agile culture. 

 

The role also partners with DC CoE leaders to forecast and manage workload, maintain delivery consistency, and ensure alignment with ANZ’s delivery and risk frameworks.

What will your day look like?


As a Delivery Lead, you are accountable to: 

 

  • Work closely with DC CoE New Zealand leadership, manage recruitment and embedment of highly skilled new delivery resources.
  • Collaboratively work within the CoE Leadership team to align on key delivery priorities, forecast demand, co-ordinate resources and ensure roles and responsibilities are agreed.
  • Create a connected and collaborative ‘one delivery community’ team culture to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, according to specifications and creating agreed value.
  • Monitor project delivery quality, identifying areas of improvement using data and metrics to track progress.
  • Develop a strong project risk management culture, monitoring and tracking project progress.
  • Develop a quality assurance ethos, ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations, delivery frameworks and guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively build and lead high functioning, collaborative teams to deliver business outcomes.

  • 10+ years’ experience in senior leadership, ideally in a Banking environment. 

  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders across functions and geographies

  • Ability to build strong cross-business relationships at all levels through positive influence. 

  • Demonstrated strategic and commercial acumen.

  • Strong communication and engagement skills.

  • Working knowledge of project and portfolio management practices

  • Strong track record in delivering complex projects, with project management qualifications is preferred
