About the Role
As a Data Engineer in our tribe S&E Data & Analytics Capability you’ll play a key role in design and implement data processing solutions that support analytics, reporting, and data development across the division.
You will drive best practice data engineering, challenge inefficient practices, and influence change to improve business outcomes. Your work will focus on delivering with excellence, uplifting the data engineering capability within the tribe, and aligning with the broader Technology and Enterprise Analytics roadmap.

What will your day look like?
As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Design data structures for data ingestion, integration and consumptio layers on a variety of technologies
- Working in a cross skilled squad with people both from business and technology to build end to end features
- Contribute to design data pipeline, patterns for on-premises and cloud and learn and use AI tools to implement it in DE.
- Optimise data flows by building robust, fault-tolerant data pipeline that cleans, transforms, and aggregates unorganized and messy data into databases or data sources
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- As per the current usage of tools such as Github Copilot, SQL, Python, Cloud and Native DB, Control M/Airflow, ELT/ETL, Git/Bitbucket, CI:CD, Unix/Linux scripting etc.
- Should have good Knowledge on python and makes minor code changes using basic language features and existing patterns, with guidance, and validates code with unit tests.
- Should Knows the existing documentation standards and requires guidance to create or modify artifacts.
- Good Communication, Problem Solving, Planning and Prioritisation, Critical Thinking and Curious to learn new AI tools.
- Understands data security policies and principles with support; applies them to minimize risks.
- Understands and applies basic Agile principles with guidance, contributing to team workflows.
- Understands fundamental data privacy and ethical principles, following guidelines with supervision.
- Familiar with basic testing methodologies and tools, applying them under supervision for simple test cases.
