About the Role
The Business Analyst - Information Services is the analytical engine and delivery enabler for Payments Information Services, supporting trusted payments data, regulatory reporting, management information, data quality uplift, and service-line delivery across Group Payments.
This role is accountable for shaping clear, end-to-end requirements, data analysis, reporting needs, and service impacts across Payments Information Services, ensuring changes are safe, traceable, resilient, and aligned to the Payments operating model.
The role translates complex payments data flows, regulatory obligations, reporting requirements, customer and operational needs, and technical constraints into actionable user stories, data mapping, business rules, acceptance criteria, process designs, and reporting specifications.
Aligned to the Information Services capability and embedded in delivery focused teams, the BA ensures work is defined, understood, testable, supportable, and traceable — from discovery and data analysis through to release, reporting assurance, and operational readiness.

What will your day look like?
As a Business Analyst, you are accountable for:
- Partner with business, data, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and reporting stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document requirements.
- Create high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data mappings, business rules, and reporting specifications.
- Analyse data lineage, data quality, reconciliation, reporting impacts, and end-to-end payment information flows.
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory reporting obligations, CPS230 requirements, enterprise data governance standards, and audit expectations.
- Drive end-to-end traceability from business requirements through delivery, testing, release, and operational support.
- Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, demand assessment, and scope definition with Product Owners and delivery teams.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, data specialists, and testers to deliver fit-for-purpose and technically aligned solutions.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into testable scenarios, supporting UAT, data validation, and reporting assurance.
- Assess change impacts and support operational readiness, including monitoring, reconciliation, controls, and support processes.
- Champion continuous improvement in data management, reporting processes, documentation standards, governance practices, and service delivery outcomes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience delivering BAU change, reporting enhancements, service optimisation, and data-driven initiatives.
- Strong business analysis skills, including requirements elicitation, data mapping, documentation, and traceability.
- Experience supporting strategic programs, data platform transformation, consolidation, and simplification initiatives.
- Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, reconciliation, data quality, reporting, and management information practices.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, audit, and payments-related reporting requirements.
- Ability to define clear scope, acceptance criteria, and operational readiness requirements to support quality delivery.
- Proven stakeholder management across Product, Technology, Data, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Finance teams.
- Experience improving end-to-end payment data flow accuracy, reporting consistency, and business process hand-offs.
- Understanding of CPS230, enterprise data governance principles, payment industry standards, and control frameworks.
- A collaborative and continuous improvement mindset, focused on trusted data, operational resilience, and business value.
