About the Role

As a Business Analyst in our Observability and Monitoring team, you’ll play a key role in helping to in guiding our team through a shift from a traditional requirement gathering approach to a more consultative, solution-driven methodology. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in both business analysis and consultation, with a strong ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to identify business requirements, propose scalable solutions, and help drive the team's adoption of a consultative approach to monitoring and observability.

What will your day look like?

• Consultation & Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, and opportunities within the Observability and Monitoring space.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and consultant, proposing solutions that align with business goals and technical capabilities.

• Business Requirements Analysis:

  • Work closely with both technical and non-technical teams to gather and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of project goals and objectives.

  • Analyze and prioritize business requirements, ensuring they align with strategic objectives.

• Solution Design & Optimization:

  • Assist in designing solutions that meet both business and technical requirements, focusing on optimizing observability and monitoring strategies.

  • Support the design and implementation of best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident management within the organization.

• Process Improvement & Methodology Shift:

  • Guide the team in shifting from traditional requirements gathering to a more collaborative, consultative approach.

  • Provide expertise on consultative methodologies such as user-centered design, solution discovery, and agile processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team by refining and adapting the consultation process to better meet team and business needs.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Create clear and concise documentation for all phases of the project, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and recommendations.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in an Observability, Monitoring, or similar technology domain.

• Strong expertise in consultation skills, with a focus on guiding teams through process changes, especially transitioning from traditional approaches to consultative methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with Observability tools and monitoring frameworks (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.) is a plus.

• Deep understanding of business analysis techniques and best practices, including stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and process optimization.

• Experience in Agile, Scrum, or other iterative methodologies is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
