About the Role
As an Associate, Technology Risk Intelligence in our Risk, Group Technology team, you’ll support the Technology Risk Intelligence practice to deliver trusted, repeatable and decision-useful risk insights and AI-enabled outputs that strengthen the Risk, Group Technology team’s ability to provide clear, data-led risk insight and challenge.
Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager and in partnership with Risk Managers and other team members, you will help deliver monitoring and analytics across material Technology and Information Security (Cyber) risk themes, support thematic reviews, events/issue analysis and governance, and contribute to evidence collation, indicator analysis and synthesis of key risk insights. This role has a developing scope, with lower autonomy and a strong focus on learning, execution discipline and quality delivery.
Using approved automation and AI-enabled tooling (where authorised), you will support the development and enhancement of automated insight products (dashboards, repeatable insight analysis, trend synthesis and first-draft packs), while maintaining strong data governance, privacy/security controls, and clear human accountability. Partnering with Risk specialists across the team, you will contribute to the evolution of technology and cyber risk appetite, metrics and oversight priorities through analysis, documentation and timely escalation of material concerns for review.
This role may also provide support for oversight of international jurisdictions, partnering (as directed) with country risk officers to provide Line 2 technology and information security support as part of a matrixed Line 2 oversight model

What will your day look like?
As an Associate Technology Risk Intelligence , you will:
- Supporting the Senior Manager and Risk Managers to deliver prioritized insight use-cases aligned to risk appetite, Board/ExCo metrics and material risk themes
- Applying agreed standards for insight definitions, metric calculations, data quality and reproducibility to support consistent governance decisions and auditability
- Building and maintaining insight assets (datasets, definitions, lineage notes, dashboards and briefing packs) that provide timely, trusted insight on control effectiveness, resilience outcomes, risk-in-change and remediation progress
- Supporting repeatable insight routines (e.g., indicator analysis, trend synthesis, evidence collation and first-draft packs) using approved automation and AI-enabled tooling (where authorized), with appropriate controls, QA and clear human accountability
- Providing hands-on analytical support for independent oversight, review and challenge activities across Technology domains and cross-cutting disciplines, including preparing analysis, summarizing evidence and drafting commentary
- Working with Technology Risk leaders and stakeholders to support risk measurement and governance narrative through indicator analysis, threshold monitoring and interpretation of trends
- Preparing draft insight packs and dashboard views that link metrics to material risk themes, decisions required and recommended actions for review by Managers and Senior Managers
- Supporting PACT-aligned NFR uplift through monitoring and analytics that inform Line 2 oversight priorities and escalation
- Operating as a developing professional within the team, demonstrating analytical discipline, documentation quality and responsible tool use
- Coordinating with Technology, Cyber, Risk, Data and Internal Audit stakeholders on agreed analytics, definitions, thresholds and evidence expectations to improve consistency and reduce duplication
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience in technology/cyber risk, operational risk, assurance, analytics or a related discipline within a complex regulated environment
- Sound analytical and data skills, including working with datasets, applying defined metrics/KRIs, and translating analysis into clear risk observations and insights
- Experience supporting repeatable insight products such as dashboards, packs or reporting routines, with attention to data quality, definitions and lineage
- Foundational understanding of technology and cyber controls and resilience concepts to support credible analysis and interpretation of indicators
- Exposure to automation and AI-enabled workflows (e.g., Copilot/LLM agents) and an understanding of governance, controls and human accountability requirements.
- Good written communication skills to prepare concise, governance-ready materials and clear stakeholder messaging under guidance
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed model, manage assigned tasks and priorities, and collaborate across teams and geographies
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and build expertise across regions, governance requirements and consistent Group standards
- Working knowledge of APRA standards relevant to technology and cyber (e.g., CPS 230, CPS 234) and associated evidence expectations
- Exposure to data science, analytics engineering or automation techniques in a governed enterprise setting
- Experience with risk tooling and platforms (GRC, issue/action management, control testing, service management) and common integration patterns
