About the Role

As a Associate Manager - Client Engagement-KYC in our Institutional - Client Onboarding and Maintenance you’ll play a key role in helping to make the KYC process seamless for Institutional customers by owning customer outreach, guiding them through regulatory requirements, and ensuring all KYC obligations are met accurately and efficiently. It combines deep KYC expertise with strong communication to support bankers, resolve queries, and drive improvements that enhance customer experience and compliance.

What will your day look like?

As a Associate Manager-Client Engagement-KYC, you will:

  • Engage directly with Institutional customers to explain KYC/AML requirements and support them through the end-to-end KYC collection process.
  • Own and drive KYC delivery, ensuring productivity targets are met and continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as the key escalation point for KYC policy clarifications, guiding bankers, stakeholders and team members with clear, accurate SME advice.
  • Coordinate KYC outreach activities, planning and monitoring progress to ensure internal deadlines are met and escalating critical cases on time.
  • Collaborate with global KYC teams (Verify & Load), MLRO, BG&C, Implementation teams, and frontline bankers to maintain smooth KYC workflows and strong relationships.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and send timely updates to customers, bankers, and requestors, ensuring same-day responses and transparency.
  • Identify gaps and improve processes, contributing to productivity, quality, and customer-centric initiatives that enhance operational performance.
  • Support and mentor new team members, sharing best practices and acting as a role model for ANZ values and behaviours.
  • Proactively manage risk and compliance, raising NFRs, adhering to AML/CTF policies, and taking remedial actions based on audit or assurance findings.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly, acting as the conduit between customers and internal teams to deliver a seamless, compliant, and customer-focused KYC experience.
  • Act as a point of contact for a portfolio for all relevant stakeholders.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 7+years experience in KYC Operation process within institutional business.. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to negotiate, persuade, influence
  • Experience in dealing with people at all levels both internally and externally
  • Exposure to multi country KYC operation is preferrable
  • Prior experience in stakeholder management
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills
  • Organised and detail oriented
  • In depth understanding of Institutional KYC (AML/CTF legislation) and its application within the banking/financial services industry, in particular key industry challenges, trends, and regulatory issues
  • Understanding and application of the key banking systems such as GOLDTIER, CACHE, ORION, MIDANZ, DSD etc.
  • Strong computer literacy - experience in working with fraud and or KYC/AML/CTF technology platforms
  • An inquiring mindset to probe, ask questions, investigate the anomalies and move through the process to resolution
